CHANGE OF ADDRESS AND NOA1

Hi guys,

We mailed our petition on the 10th of June, it was delivered on the 15th and on the 17th my fiance got a text with the receipt number.

He recently moved back to Brooklyn after a year in Jersey City and as soon as we received this text, we changed the address on the website on the 18th and got a confirmation from USCIS saying that the address was updated on the 20th. Now we're wondering if the NOA1 hard copy will be sent to the house in Jersey City or the one in Brooklyn?

Does anyone have any idea if the NOA1 hard copy is sent at the same time as the text or if they wait a few days before mailing it?

Thank you!

Did your fiancé do a change of address with the post office? Hard to say when they mail the NOA1's I would say few days after them receiving it.

as long as your fiancé did a change of address with post office, you should receive the NOA1

Hi guys,

We have just mailed off our petition on 06-16-2016, and my fiancé is currently living in Brooklyn and moving to a new location in just over two months time. I'm currently in London. We have been getting some help with an attorney because we were wary of changing our address around the time we could be receiving NOA2.

Our attorney said address changes can take some time to feed through and it is worth following this up with USCIS if you can. Have you created a profile on their website to check the status of your case?

I'm sure you'd be able to call and quote your case receipt number and they could check their records. From what I could see the number is

Call toll-free 1-800-375-5283 or 1-800-767-1833

Anyway, I will let you know if I find anything else as the address change issue will be ours soon enough.

Hi! Thank you for your reply.

I have an online account with USCIS and I called the customer service but they weren't able to speak to me about the application as I'm not the petitioner. The address has been changed successfully and we shouldn't have issues, fingers crossed.

Could you get your fiancé the petitioner to call up just to make sure. It's hard to get peace of mind in this process. Good luck! :-)
