Hi all...

Another (stupid?) question....I've gathered from some posts that NVC assigns interview dates and not the embassy. Is this true for all countries? Or does the embassy contact you directly after NVC forwards the info to them (like with the K3)??

Our timeline...

I-130/CR-1

10/7-12/29/05: NOA 1+2

8/10/06: case received in Frankfurt--get letter asking for more info

think we'll adjust in the states...

K3

2/7/06: NOA 2

4/24/06: Interview in Copenhagen

5/17/06: Sent additional info. requested

8/9/06: e-mail from embassy that they are ready to issue visa

8/23/06: visa in hand

Rule of thumb. If the NVC requires you to submit both DS-230 parts I & II and all supporting documents etc then the interview will be scheduled via the NVC. These countries include Canada, Albania, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and the continent of Africa. Applicants required by NVC to only submit DS-230 part I and in general only a photocopy of the biometrics page of their passport, has the interview set via the Embassy/Consulate.
