OK - I am an idiot and wrote down the wrong number for her SSN! Not the wrong SSN - just a wrong number. Her A# is correct and - as far as I can tell - all the other info is correct. We have sent it and received the I-797C NOA. Now what do we do? Wait for the biometric appointment? Re-file (please no!)?

Advice please.

What do you mean you wrote the wrong number but not the wrong SSN?

Generally, you can correct any mistakes at the interview and it usually causes no delays at all. Mistakes in biographic information can however cause delays because they might want to rerun the background check with the correct information or the background check might return an information mismatch.

I honestly don't know if your SSN is part of the background check but I think it might be. If they've got a smart system they'll figure it out, but who knows. At this point, I would go through with biometrics and call USCIS. See if there's a way to correct this over the phone. If not wait until your interview and hope for no delays. There's a good chance there won't be any. At biometrics they give you an information list to check. I don't remember if that had your SSN on it but if it does, make sure you correct it. That would fix the problem right there. Some people forgot to add precious names to the application but we're able to fix this at biometrics.
