Sure. I print mine all the time! If you have the chat sessions logged, you will have to open up the Message Archive where they are all kept. You will see the sessions of each person you've chatted with. That is if you set the option to log chat sessions. If you click on their folder name, you should see all the sessions from each date. If you click on any of the dated sessions, you will have to then "Save" the session somewhere onto your computer. It will only save it as a text file, "Notepad". It won't be bright and colorful and have all those little emoticons except for how they are typed on a keyboard. You should be able to print the entire session after you have saved it. Good luck!

We had the same issue with Yahoo. What I found to be better is to make a printscreen of the archive for each day we chatted. This shows the date/time, who was chatting, and the first part of the conversation...they really do not need to read your entire conversation.

We use a program called Gadwin Printscreen - This program allows you to select the area on your screen you want to capture. You can have the selection save as an image, or copy to your clipboard.

I use the 'copy to clipboard option' then paste it into a word document that has our names and the chat date in the header of the document...I have been using this method now for almost 2 years and it works perfectly. I have 1 page for each day of chat instead of many pages for each day of chat. I also use this method for MSN/Live Messenger chat archive.

I printed them for our interview, and the first page of each day is fine, they are interested in seeing if you share a common language, not the content of the messages. The chat log is useful for showing how often you communicated.

You can change your settings so that the session will not get deleted after you sign out. Just go to preferences under messenger on your top line menu, or hit Ctrl+Shift+P with the yahoo window active and click on archive and change that option to "Yes, save all my messages". If it's deleting after you close Yahoo then you have the second option selected which is "Yes, save all my messages but clear them each time I log out"

Many people have brought this up and all you need is one page from some selected dates. Be sure to print out the log that shows all the chat sessions with their dates. This will show how often you chat in Yahoo.

yes it only prints one page (annoying - yes :) )

but I think just one page for each day is sufficient - as it

logs names, date and time. I am also planning to send

few of these one-pager transcripts for few days only.

there are some other fancy yahoo archive decoders

on the web - most of them you have to pay for and buy them

but I think its an overkill.

Yes it is over kill, in our case if I did print every line of chat, I would have had a stack of paper at least 2 feet thick.

The Log along with several 1 page printouts per month is sufficient to show regular communication. Most interviews take 5 minutes, they do not have time to go through reams of paper.

Thanks for all the responses. Yeah, we save our chat sessions in the archive. We only have the printing problem. I never thought of saving it to a text file and then printing. I also agree that they will never read all of them anyway. :) I think just printing the first page of a few selected chats will probably be enough. Thanks again.
