POE: 08/31/21

Fee paid: 12/03/21

Card being produced:12/10/21

no SSN yet… what do I do? I can’t get insurance or a bank account and I called but no help whatsoever. I did ask on my DS260 to get it automatically but nothing

I doubt it will be generated automatically after that date . My son only received it automatically, wife and daughter had to go to the office .

take your passport with visa stamp or green card to the nearest social security office after making an appointment and you’ll receive it in 2 weeks

Still waiting on USCIS, IV fee paid and entered on Aug 9th. On SR #2 and received this update last week:

"The status of this service request is:

We have received your service request and are researching the status of your application. We need additional time before replying to you with information about your case. If you do not receive your Permanent Resident Card (PRC) or additional information regarding your inquiry within 45 days, please contact us through the website listed below.

Please be assured your status as a Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) is not affected by the receipt of your PRC. You will have evidence of your LPR status for one year from the date of your admission, as shown by the temporary I-551 stamp Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) placed in your passport when you entered the United States. Even when your temporary evidence of LPR status expires, you do not lose your status as an LPR.

No changes to the online status checker. 😕

Guys, I'm not sure if this is why GC's have not arrived yet, but my mother in-law crossed the border for the second time since she came to the USA for the first time with her immigrant visa.
They sent her to second inspection. Once there, she asked the CBP agent, "what seems to be the problem?"
The agent replied: It appears that the agent the processed your first entry, he/she did not do it correctly and left it open, but don't worry, I'm going to take care of it right now.
She then asked the agent, "Maybe this is why I have not received my GC since I paid for it back in Oct 8 of this year.
The agent replied:  Definitively this is the reason. You would never receive your GC with your case still open. He then told her: "Welcome back to United States".

I'm not saying this the reason why a lot of people have not received their GC after paying them, but it is something to keep in mind.

Sounds like a one-off case to me. First I've heard of it, and definitely not what has happened for me. I'm crossing about every other week and not had any issue since my first crossing with my IV. CBP have become very chill with me which is a nice welcome change.

That's cool. Hoping is just one off.
I follow two Facebook groups of people going to their consular interviews in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
There's a sizeable number of users reporting the same problem. Most of them never receiving their GC even after 6 months of waiting to no avail.
USCIS is probably swamped with work and short handed.

Cheers!
