It is separate but we didn't get a SSN or GC right away.   The first SSA office wouldn't do anything without the GC.  A week later we had the GC and went back to SSA and had no problems.

interesting, i got my SSN a week after POE. do you think that bodes well for quick arrival of gc?

They are two completely separate federal agencies.  Now that USCIS prints the green cards the process has slowed way down.

Your stamp will not expire until one year from the date of entry. You’re likely looking at the date on the visa (which is a more like an “enter the country by” date). Look at the date on the actual stamp that customs put on your passport when you entered. No worries, no rush.

Fee Paid: October 30

POE: November 6th, 2020 (Dallas)

Status: Still, " Immigration Visa Fee Payment Received"

Status has not changed since Oct 30th, 2020 since I last paid the visa fee. I have chatted with an agent and she says I am well inside processing time and suggested me to wait 120 days.  It has been more than 90 days since I paid the fee for OS-155A. Any suggestions, comments, I tried to keep in inquiry and it is not letting me, as the system is saying I am inside processing time, however, 90 days have already passed.

Thank You!
