POE: March 20, 2020 (LAX)

No green card received by the 120 day mark. Contacted USCIS in July. No response.

Contacted USCIS again in August. No response.

Received a call from USCIS late August telling us that they have no information on our case and are forwarding our request directly to the processing center.

Received email from USCIS earlier this week saying that the case is moving and being sent for production.

Card production: September 12, 2020

Will update when card is received.

I found this thread interesting while I was waiting for my GC, so I thought I'd add my timeline as well.

POE (Boston): July 18, 2020
Sent to be printed: October 3, 2020

Interesting, how these green card timelines vary. Good luck to all of you who are still waiting.

Thanks! I entered through Boston as well (22 Aug) and was wondering if it was just me that it's taking longer.

PAID FEES:  FEB 28, 2020

POE (El Paso):  JULY 14, 2020

SSN STATUS:  UNKNOWN

GREEN CARD STATUS:  UNKNOWN

I'm glad I stumbled across this thread during my research...  May I ask where everyone is obtaining their green card status updates?  I go to the USCIS case status page and the only thing I see is that our I-130 was approved.  When I go to CEAC, it just shows that all of my documents have been accepted and my fees are paid.  Is there a third website that you all are going to for green card status updates?

When we submitted her DS-260, we answered YES when asked if we wanted the SSA to issue a SSN and card.  It's now been over 3 months and we have not received her card.  I contacted the SSA after she had been in the country for a little over a month and they informed me that due to COVID that it is now taking up to 3 months to receive her card.  They told us she could come in for an interview and they would issue her a SSN but they warned against it as she may then have 2 SSN's assigned to her so we headed their advice and waited.

It was my understanding that it could take up to 120 days to receive your green card but we are outside that window as well.  My concern is that nothing that was supposed to just automatically occur after entering the country is happening.  Does anyone know whether or not a SSN must be assigned BEFORE they will issue her a green card?  The reason I am asking is that generally (BEFORE COVID), it would only take 30 days to get your SS card in the mail and then another couple of months you would get your green card.  Perhaps the reason that she has not received her green card is due to the fact that she does not yet have a SSN assigned.  I would appreciate any and all feedback and advice.

OK.... Now I feel like a total idiot...  I did not realize there was a separate fee of $220 that has to be paid after the visa is issued... I'm really sorry about the novel.  I guess my follow up question would be if the fact that I had not yet paid that fee (until 5 mins ago) would that have anything to do with the delay in the issuance of her SSN?  I know they two departments are not inter-related but when you answer yes on the DS-260 that you want them to issue you a SSN, it says that the DoS and Homeland Security will share the info with the SSA.  Perhaps they don't share squat until you pay the $220 immigrant fee to the USCIS....  Just thinking.

It is separate but we didn't get a SSN or GC right away.   The first SSA office wouldn't do anything without the GC.  A week later we had the GC and went back to SSA and had no problems.

Almost a year later, we finally have my wife's card in hand:

Oct 21 (2019): Paid fee

Nov 2 (2019): POE

March 2: 120 days, called and opened SR with USCIS

April 3: SR was never assigned to agent, so called again. Agent opened a higher priority SR

April 6: Case assigned to agent for response

April 15: Received an email saying they need more time, and if we don't hear back in 90 days to call again.

June 2: Called again, they just told us to keep waiting

June 9: Received letter from USCIS saying they lost the packet (never received it from POE). Called number and waiting for an in-person appointment to be scheduled to re-create packet.

August 17: Appointment with local USCIS office. Originally this wasn't allowed since we weren't an 'emergency' (due to COVID), but we needed an extension due to a mortgage application. Therefore, USCIS gave my wife a new stamp and recreated her GC packet at the same time.

Oct 23: Card in production

Oct 26: Card mailed

Oct 30: Card received.

Thanks to everyone on this forum for their help through the process!
