I also sent an inquiry through the USCIS portal and was told the same, that it would be forwarded for review. Husband's POE date March 4, 2020. Looks like we will be waiting a while longer with the production delays, though. Arghhh... is nothing in this process smooth?

ugh yes! i thought after being done with the interview and all that it would be easy, i guess not! I have been checking my account but after a little more than two weeks it still says my inquiry hasn't been assigned to someone or something like that :/ I was hoping to receive a reply at 15 days but I already know everything is so slow with USCIS. Today I also sent a message on my account asking again about my case, hopefully they answer that sooner :(  But it's strange how others get their card in production faster even if they arrived later than us, or even around the same time we arrived. It seems some of us are unlucky 😢

Hi there my POE in March 13,did a live chat on the 121st day of entry. Also did an inquiry and open a service request. I was told that my biometrics is missing so I have to redo and ASC will send a mail with my appointment. Its live rep that confirmed the status of my residence card that somehow biometrics is missing so card didn't changed status.

what is the open service request? when you send a message to them from your inbox?

I sent through my inbox, then open a service request and did a live chat to a representative. They did respond to the one I sent in my inbox but same answer as what the rep told me that my card is suspended until the biometrics is done. My data is put in the system that schedules the biometrics. Just waiting for the appointment to come in the mail or them upload the document

Just got "Card is being Produced" this morning.

It took 115 days  to get into " Card is being Produced " status and it seems we have to wait longer time but eventually we will get it through.

Finally got the update on status "Card Was Mailed To Me"

The process time frame from Card is being Produced -> Mailed is around 3 weeks per my case.

Hi everyone, did you have any problems getting a job and signing contracts with green card pending? Did you provide social security number and visa or how did it work?

Once my husband had his SSN, it was no problem. Your entry stamp on your passport serves as your green card for one year.

Thanks so much for the detailed advice! We'll keep you updated if we go this route.

Update - we filled out the privacy release form and contacted our congressman. They told us that the Trump administration has removed their ability to push the USCIS to do much more. The re-iterated that we'll need to wait until we have an urgent need to get an appointment (as things stand now). They said they'll be able to help if things get close to expiration and we still don't have an appointment. But for now, we just have to wait and hope the USCIS will start taking non-emergency appointments. It was a disappointing outcome, we had some hope going into this option.

@gaga520

Before mid-June when the USCIS still had their external card printing contract, the time frame between "Being Produced" and "Card Mailed" was just 1 to 2 days.

Since mid-June, the USCIS ended their card printing contract with the external vendor but did not staff its the internal print facilities sufficiently (Corbin KY print facility is closed and Lees Summit MO is operating below capacity).

As a result, the Washington Post expose revealed as of mid-July there was a backlog of approved 75,000+ green cards and EAD's in the "Being Produced" status awaiting printing.

Right now, it's about a 3 week backlog (15 to 25 days). My father's approved green card was sent to the production queue on June 29. It was finally printed on July 20, a full 21 days later. After printing, it was mailed on July 21 and will be arriving in MA today July 23 via Priority Mail.

@Chris and Jenn Even when your biometrics is completed, your case will still need to be manually reviewed by a USCIS officer. After the review and approval it will be sent to the production queue (where currently the printing process has increased from the time it is sent to the production queue from the prior 2 day wait to now over 20-30 days due to the severely scaled back card production capacity). With the impending August 3 furlough, don't expect your actually green card to be in hand until after Thanksgiving.

@Christine1 Just use your immigrant visa (IV)- it serves a temporary I-551 (green card) for 1 year from the date of entry stamped by CBP. The annotations on the IV even states so.  Because your card is in the card production line as of July 10, with the rate cards are being produced now hopefully your card should be printed around August 7. Unfortunately the furlough starts August 3 so that August 7 date could be pushed back even further without the $1.2B loan by Congress

Hi,

That is actually unlawful. Trump  administration does not have the authority to do that without changing the law, but who cares about the law when its a bunch of immigrants, the scum of the earth, right?   but as we know USCIS and other agencies under his and/or populist far right influence has been known to cater to his anti immigration stance by slowing down their work to a halt, which never was efficient in the slightest or immigrant friendly to begin with  , giving dodgy answers , not responding to inquiries, “losing” documents. He weaponized an already incumbent and outright hostile bureaucracy to bypass the law. That worries me greatly. Don’t get me wrong USCIS was always incompetent, at times outright hostile or abusive, it is one of those agencies like ICE or Homeland Security always leaned right. I honestly wouldn't care if they did their ONE job. But thats exactly what i mean by weaponization of bureaucracy.

All that aside, so they are saying they “lost” your visa packet and you need to have an appointment with a field office. But they refuse to give you an appointment even after the congressional inquiry due to COVID. Am i correct? What was your POE( point of entry) and the processing center if you don't mind me Asking? Mine was JFK and it was Texas, who already “lost” my application after approval once for 6 months during I-30 stage. I can’t prove anything but i have a feeling Texas especially *loses JFK packets * a lot.

Not for everyone it seems. I entered by land on April 1. No GC, no updates. Others from another forum entered after me but by air and were already issued their GC.
