DMV did accept her IV as a proof of residency. The problem was with my wife's passport. For some reason DMV's passport scanner was unable to read my wife's passport data. We tried 3 different DVM locations. They told us they could submit a request to verify the passport, but it could take up to 6 months. So we decided it would be faster just to wait for the GC.

got it...thats y may b otherwise passport n visa stamp works well for everything till GC is not there...so yea it makes sense

DMV said the issue was with the passport, the page was too thick for their machine or something. We don't need to worry about that anymore:)

yea...ur in NY right? the whole world seems to b on lockdown though....so stay safe too probably if u want better wait till covid 19 issue is a bit setlled...we r just indoor these days

We're in LA and we've been staying indoor too. Yeah, we definitely are not going anywhere until it's safe.

Mine did the same thing for the 1st however it said was accepted on March 24th, I entered on March 22nd and paid the fee since Feb 3. I got the chat confirmation from an Officer saying the 120 days started from POE because that was later.

Congratulations that was quick. I came across to your profile since our family originally booked a flight that EWR is the POE and I had the same case asking to convert CR to IR since entry is pass 2 years after marriage.

Well we end up going to Seattle, officer was good but still didn't listen and won't look at the marriage certificate and insist on stamping CR1. I wasn't even taken to secondary inspection so just hoping that somehow card will show the IR. If not we will send in back with I90
