It was an RFIE, because the attorney didn't send in ANY financial information at all. So, I had to refill out the I-864, and send in all our bank information, deeds to houses, annuity information, past 3 years taxes, and another affidavit of support. And fire our attorney! He had all the information when we filed but didn't turn it in.

I had sent in a service request about the EAD, because it was at the 90 day mark. That triggered the RFIE and got things moving again.

Today, I checked the USCIS site, and nothing had been done on the EAD, so I put in another service request (this time online). Within 2 hours, the EAD status had changed to "Approved". I don't know if my request had anything to do with that, or not. But, Everytime I've sent in a request something has happened.

By the way, I sent in our RFE on June 7, and they processed on June 8.

I know it's annoying when lawyers do mistakes like that. I was annoyed too. Especially because I gave her my birth certificate before filing the AOS.

Anyway, how did you calculate the 90 days mark? On the USCIS they say that the 90 days clock starts over from day 1 when they receive the response to the RFIE.

On the USCIS case status page, the update says that they will "begin working on your case again". Our " wonderful attorney" (sarcastic) said that an RFE wouldn't put our case on hold!! Anyway, all it did was put it on hold, and not start over from day one. Thank goodness!!

Oh, and it was because I called on May 23, which was 91 days since we filed the EAD. That made them look into it and discover we needed more information. We got a letter saying that. They sent the RFIE out the same day. We sent it in on June 6, they got it June 8, and I sent in an online inquiry yesterday (June 20) regarding the EAD, and two hours later, it was approved!
