Lost Green Card, I-90, and I-551 stamp

Those many who are awaiting their first GC, have Advance Parole. This is not the same as just stamp. By the way, this stamp is for people who are already granted residency, not who just entered the country, unless they won the GC lottery.

I think I understand what you're getting at, it's not the US CBP you're concerned about, I also had a stamp in my passport, this was because I was issued with two NOA documents with different numbers, to avoid confusion, USCIS gave me a stamp as well. When I traveled with the stamp, the only issue I encountered on multiple trips was with an airline from where I was departing from, I can't recall which one it was, but the ground staff was very hesitant to let me board for the US without seeing my Green Card. I understood it was because the airline could be on the hook for taking you back if you are not admitted into the US. What I did was ask to speak to a supervisor and after multiple discussions and calls (I have no idea who they spoke to), they let me board. I'd suggest that you bring copies of your support documents with you, and make sure you allow ample time for additional discussions before your flight.

You are not saying that the airport employees do not know these travel documents, are you? You wouldn't be the first person to travel with that.

Looks like you just want to frustrate yourself.

I have concerns and don't want to risk it with no guarantee.

Last time, USCIS suddenly canceled my I-485 application when I was abroad with Advance parole... so I don't know what to expect. I am scared to leave but cannot stay in this terribly hot and dry town anymore... need some fresh air. If I have 99.9% chance to re-enter back, I am ready to go.

Last time, I understood that not many officials in departure airports know even about Advance parole, so this lame looking stamp gives me concerns.

You are just stressing over a non-issue.

Airlines/Airport staff can not prevent you from boarding your flight because of this. It is a genuine travel document. If they have any concerns they will most likely contact a higher-up who will get in contact with a US immigration official, these things are all networked. That's why they're able to know who is flying in 5000 miles away, exchange passenger manifest data and report trouble makers aboard aircraft to the other country etc.

You will be fine. Just have your documentation ready.

If you're that worried about the stamp I'd just stay put until you have the new GC in hand.

I would. But every day is a torture, nothing to breath, 40 degrees Celsius with 0% humidity and no water for swimming anywhere near :-(

GC will come in about 6 months only, it's impossible....

Ok, now about ADIT abbreviation. From here: http://www.alllaw.com/articles/nolo/us-immigration/adit-processing.html

The acronym ADIT stands for Alien Documentation, Identification & Telecommunications System. It means that USCIS is calling you in for a brief walk-in visit in order to collect the information, photos, and fingerprints that it needs in order to create your actual green card.

What does it mean, USCIS can ask me for something else? But I passed my biometrics appointment.

I mentioned ADIT because "Temporary Residence Stamp (ADIT) contained in a passport" is among accepted documents for entry to USA, according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), page 10, as EM_Vandaveer suggested.

My husband lost his GC, too and had the stamp for a trip abroad. The officer who put the stamp in his passport wrote the wrong date, scratched it out, and wrote the correct date. When he was departing Nicaragua, the border agents just called USCIS or DHS or whoever to verify that his stamp was valid, and then he was allowed to pass. A non-altered stamp like yours will be no problem for travel.

But airport workers may not know that it works as a green card. They can say: visa, american passport, green card, advance parole, or return permit. And I'm showing them this stamp... What can I show them to prove my right to enter the U.S.?

Is there any official list of acceptable documents for traveling to USA, where this stamp is listed? I haven't found it so far.

This is how it looks like:

]

Yes there is an official list. It is here: https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/documents/carrier_info_guide_3.pdf

It may well be worth scrolling down to find the page with your stamp and making a copy - there are enough reports of airline staff not knowing about this type of thing for your concerns to be warranted. The pages have the web address and you might "remind" the airline staff that they should have a copy of this document lying around somewhere.

I have seen at least 5 or .6 reports of airline staff refusing travel to people with those stamps - especially if people do not come from a country with high immigrant rates to the US, there are airline staff who are not familiar with it. The most recent example I heard was about a week ago, with Qantas flying from Australia. The couple missed their flight while trying to sort it all out.
