URGENT: Travel to China on Old Passport with Valid Visa

Note: I am not trying to circumvent laws. I just need an educated opinion on this.

I recently naturalized. I have a US passport in hand, and my old foreign passport. My old nationality does not allow dual citizenship, and the name in that passport is my maiden, vs my married in my US passport. A last minute fire drill business trip to China is impending, and I need to know if I should get a new visa in my US passport, or can I use the still valid visa in my foreign passport?

My concern is re-entry to the US. I mean, they probably won't care if my names don't match on the ticket to my US passport, since I'm a citizen? Or will they care that I was in China and that there is no visa in my US passport?

Interesting question, I suspect that you may run into issues if the name on your tickets do not match the name in your current passport.

Thanks for your response, Pitaya.

To add, I would purchase the tickets in my maiden name to match the foreign passport with the visa. This would make airline check-in interesting, since they would ask for my LPR card that I don't have. But I also know that, at least with most places, the airlines send CBP a passenger manifest, and me entering with my US passport, the names will not match. However, with all the immigration ####### I've been through, CBP and DHS should have my maiden name down in my records.

Definitely. Been carrying one since I ran into trouble in Munich because my LPR card name didn't match the passport.
