Each time I came into the USA my passport was stamped with a B2 and a date written in. You are not allowed to be in USA for more than 180 day in a calendar year. This was explained to me in detail by nice man who pulled me in for questioning. I had all paperwork always with me to prove ties to Canada. And never ever lied or fudged any truths when asked anything.

guess that work visa didn't work out for her. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/594145-work-permit-for-canadian/#entry8118280

b2 visas are for visiting the US, not living or working here. She was pulled into secondary, without a doubt she will again she will be again after only returing to Canada for a few weeks or days to "reset the clock". CBP isn't stupid and people like your girlfriend who abuse our system are exactly the reason why others who truly only want to visit for tourism are denied.

Wonder what the full story is.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

what the full story is? she is obvioulsy 'visiting' him while he works.. she just got there and is already thinking about how she can continue to stay while he works..she was questioned when she entered and then got through with a return by date in november... they are probably just planning ahead in hopes that she can take a mini-vaca in canada for 2 weeks and then try to return after that... if he was american they could marry and it wouldnt be a huge deal the overstay.. but that is not an option.

i have seen canadians do this millions of times and pre 2011 it was usually ok.. now, not so much.

between now and Nov, alot could happen anyways.
