Co-sponsor For Egypt (*IMPORTANT*)

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if any of you had brought his/her fiancé from Egypt and know whether or not the US embassy in Cairo, Egypt accepts a co-sponsor for the Affidavit Of Support (Form I-134) for the K-1 visa process?!

Any piece of information would be greatly appreciated.

According to the Cairo Consulate information here on VJ:

"*Additional Info for people who need to use a co sponsor: You can inform the co sponsor that they can Mail OR Email the I-134 directly to the embassy if they don't want their private information to be seen.They need to include all information that's required to sponsor and write your case number on all the forms."

That means they do accept a co-sponsor. Any clue up to how many co-sponsor(s)? Or only one?

You can't use more than one as contrary to that information you found on some other website, the co-sponsor CANNOT add their income to yours. For the I-134, they need 100% of the poverty level for their own household plus one (intending immigrant).

This online information I found and shared has definitely mislead me and could definitely mislead anyone else. Thanks a lot for confirming.

Not sure if VJ allows members here to remove/delete comments/replies to forms so I could remove the incorrect online info I put on here for everyone else. Just didn't see a "delete" option.

Guidelines for poverty should be 125% , you use 100 % if in military. You may have one co sponser for a k1
