Received my Green Card 8 months early without interview. Am I dreaming?

So the title says it all, I just received a permanent resident card in the mail. It's green, it has my face and it expires in 2 years. This can only lead me to assume that it is in fact my actual green card.

So here's the thing, is this real? I mean it really is real, it came with all the right bits of paperwork, I-797 to confirm. I log in online at USCIS and they say that it has been delivered.

My question is why on earth I've received it 8 months early? I applied in Feb 2016 and guessed I would be having my interview 1 year later in 2017. I've had terrible trouble getting things sorted with them and they've been sending my mail to all sorts of crazy places. I'm just scared this isn't real or they made a mistake, this is just insane to me. I'm not complaining AT ALL, but I'm just a little worried this is all too good to be true.

Has anyone else ever heard of this happening or would know why? Or if this is just normal and I'm being an idiot and I have to go to an interview still?

Any light on this would be amazing.

Lots of K1s don't interview for AOS. The speed of processing by USCIS will always be a mystery. Just when you think there is a pattern....there's not.

It's legit. You must have gone to a service centre that wasn't crazy busy and your paperwork was a no-brainer. Happy days. :D

Add my wife to the list who has applied in Feb and already received GC. She actually got her GC at the end of May. No interview.

Congratulations! :) I applied for AOS in March 2015 (from K1 visa) and my AOS was approved in the end of September 2015, 6 months, no interview. I received my Green Card on October 1st, 2015.

Wow this is amazing. Well congrats to anyone else getting theirs quickly. It's definitely made my life a little less stressful!

Congratulations! Amazing news :dancing::dancing::dancing: Every time I see these kind of positive posts it just brings smile to my face and gives me a little more hope (L) I just have a little questions to you guys: Does this ''Miracle'' happens only to K1 applicants? In my case, I will be applying for a marriage based GC , do you know any cases similar to this? GC in just couple months and no interview?? :shocked:

If you are getting an IR1/CR1 spouse visa, then you won't even apply for adjustment of status in the U.S. Your visa process means you will be fully approved for a greencard with everything you do to get the visa. The day you enter the US on your spouse visa...BAM!...you are a permanent resident and your passport will be marked as such. The actual greencard will arrive in the mail when they get around to it, but no additional application or interview.
