Hi!

My fiancé sent in our petition on May 20th, and he has still not heard anything back. No email. No text. No NOA1. I'm really worried it has been lost. He stupidly sent cash so we can not track it from the bank. And I have since read that this is also not an acceptable form of payment. Is this normal to wait so long for NOA1? What will happen next if the payment is wrong? What is there phone number to call them please?? I'm freaking out, this happened last time we sent in the I-129f but with a cheque and we never heard back. Why do they ignore us

Thank you

Personally, I think they didn't accept it because of the wrong payments. NOA1 means they are starting to work on your case but in your case, they might not work on it because it's not an acceptable form of payment. You can call customer service and explain. So you filed in once before? With a check? Did they ever cash the check?

Yes we Have actually sent in twice before first with a cheque and it was never cashed, and second we got an RFE for a missing form, the RFE got lost in the mail so we only found out a week before and were unable to meet the deadline. But the second he sent cash as well and we did receive a NOA1 And RFE so that's why I'm not sure if the payment is an issue.

We have had the worst luck and it is really starting to put a strain on us :(

I was thinking it was a payment issue too. Do you think they will send the forms and payment back, or an RFE, or we will have to send in a payment, or all of it again? And we sent it to the petition to:

Po box 660151

Dallas Texas

75266

And we will try ringing them on Monday, are they open at the weekends? Will my London US embassy be able to help?

I'm sorry for all the questions but I'm so confused and worried!

Thank you :)

Wow, looks like you are followed by bad luck. Certainly give them a call on Monday. Their not open weekends, and London embassy wouldn't know anything about your case in order to assist you.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

I'm just in awe that anyone would send so much money in cash through the postal service. Please do not send anymore cash payments through the mail. First, as you've learned its impossible to track. Secondly, you can take that cash almost anywhere and get a money order or to a bank to get a certified check issued. Have someone write a personal check....anything except cash!

Did you send the package to the lockbox with tracking? That only costs a few dollars extra and is well worth it. That way you can see where and when it was delivered and received.

There is a lot of important and personal information on this forms. Please in the future follow the guides and be more diligent about how your sending sensitive documents and payments.

Good Luck!

They definitely ask you to write a cheque for a reason, I'd hate to send any amount of money through USPS, ESPECIALLY that amount of money. How come you didn't send a cheque like you did with the first petition? Hopefully you can get to the bottom of this on Monday, but I'd be prepared to face the outcome of not seeing that money again.
