Hello,

I was wondering how long did you guys wait between your biometrics appointment and receiving your travel document? Specially in Florida, as that's where I live.

I had my biometrics appoitment on May 20th and I'm hoping to travel on July 1st. I can't check online if it was approved or not as I always get an error message when I put my case number. I also couldn't talk to anybody on the phone as they couldn't find my case number... I took an infopass appointment but the earliest date I could get is June 25th. My flight ticket is already costing $2500, I can't wait any longer to book it or it will really be too expensive...

Can I leave the country without the travel document and have my husband taking it with him when he meets me in my home country in August? (Assuming he receives it in the mail)

Thank you!

  1. NOTE: Generally, if you are in the United States and have applied for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident, your application will be deemed abandoned if you leave the United States without rst obtaining an Advance Parole Document.

REF: Page 1 of the I-131 instructions: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-131instr.pdf

This is assuming that you are adjusting status from a K1 visa. However, cannot tell, as that your timeline is vacant. :time:

The general forum recommendation is to NOT make any non-refundable/non-exchangeable reservations/plans until the official document (i.e., visa, AP travel document) in your hand.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
