K1- Visa issued with incorrect name

Hi everyone, I just noticed that our visa is wrong name ( Middle and first name reverse order). We have no problem getting to the US but the local SSN office did not let us apply for SSN. They said they only used whatever in the visa (which mean they only use middle name as firstname). I just double check on DS 160 and it also mess up (which mean I typed wrong). They asked us to come to USCIS local office to correct the visa but I dont know if the USCIS can help us to fix it due to our mistake or I have to contact the consulate where the visa was issued. Please help meeee

9/14/19: Biometrics letter received in the mailbox. Appointment is on Sep 25,2019

1/24/2020:  "New card is being produced"

07/07/16: I-485, I-765, I-131 AOS Application sent to USCIS Chicago IL.

07/08/16: Package delivered

7/12/16: Electronic texts & email receiveds

7/15/16: 3 Hardcopy NOA1s received in the mailbox with dated July 11,2016

7/23/16: Biometrics letter received in the mailbox. Appointment is on Aug 4,2016

8/4/16: BIO is done at Denver USCIS support center

8/17/16: I485 changed to "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" When????

9/12/16: EAD/AP status changed to New card is being produced ---> then EAD/AP approved same day

9/16/16: EAD/AP Hard copy approval notices received. Card was mailed to me

9/23/16: EAD/AP combo card received

Aos interview 4/24/2017 --> approved on the spot. GC expire 4/24/2019

 

K-1 Journey:

1/18/16: I-129F Package sent via FedEx to Lewisville, TX

1/20/16: I-129F Package delivered

1/21/16: Electronic text & email received

1/22/16: NOA1 notice date (routed to CSC)

1/29/16: Hardcopy NOA1 received in the mailbox.

3/18/16: NOA2 received via text and email :dancing: :dancing:

4/6/16: NVC received

6/2/16: Interview day -->> Approved

6/12/16: Entered USA (POE Dallas/Texas)

6/14/16: Obtained marriage license at local COS office.

Thank you! I just made an appointment with local USCIS at Denver. If they are unable to solve the problem. I'll contact the consulate where visa was issued

I may have misunderstood you. If you are already in the US, do not bother with the interviewing embassy/consulate. Make an Infopass pass appointment and get it straightened out, if not, it may come back to haunt you later on.

Bring the Marriage Certificate to SSA ofc to fix the name. dont forget to bring I-94.

We did bring original marriage license but they just take the name on the visa. They asked us correct with uscis first before come back to them

Yes I made an appointment via Infopass. But I'm not sure if they can help us solve the problem since this is our mistake via DS160

The visa beneficiary carried the file back in the package that was given to the CBP officer at the US Port of Entry. USCIS has the file, and will be the one that you have to contact, via InfoPass to get it corrected.

All my family members (ex me) have all three names on their SS card. I also had 3 but they misspelled my last name (V instead of Y) and for new one I just put first and last name

I know that we can correct the name later but since entire process is correct, I think I better get this mistake as soon as possible in order to apply for green card later.
