Hi everyone,

"Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS California Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number WACxxxxxxxxxx. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your case using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status."

Would this be the 1st NOA (NOA1)?

Does accepted mean it has been opened (according to the VJ flowchart, NOA1 is when the packet has been opened)?

It's been almost a month and have not received the official Receipt of Notice (Form I-797).

I am concern at this point.

Thank you all, in advance, for your input.

Yes, that is the NOA1. You should have received the I-797C in the mail. If you don't get it within 30 days of when you are notified, call the USCIS and ask about it.

As for the case being opened, it would have to be for them to notify you. How else would they get your phone number and email address? I'm not sure if that is what you mean...

It's really helpful to register on their website with the USCIS Case Number. You should have received this when you were first notified.

When I received my official receipt notice (Form I-797) my case then became active on the USCIS website. When I tried to check it before I got the paper notice it would not work. After I was able to check it there was a message stating to call USCIS if I didn't receive my official notice by June 15th. I sent my packet on the same day as you did and my case was also transferred on the same date as yours. I would call them and let them know you have not received your official notice yet.

Thanks for the advice on the personal info Patiya and Mr/Mrs Icez and everyone else for the input.

I called USCIS and the service personal stated that the email notification was sufficient even though I didn't get the hard copy of the receipt notice (I-797).

It's a waiting period at this point.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."
