Hi guys,

I posted this briefly in another thread but I'm really worried and frustrated.

I mailed my ROC package USPS Priority in a large-flate rate box on Monday morning, and it was scheduled to arrive on Thursday, aka today.

Well, just take a look at this tracking info:

It literally went back and forth, in a circle, and now it's back at the post office I sent it at?

I don't know what they're trying to do.

Any time I call the USPS customer service line, it's all automated. I've looked up "hacks" to talk to a live person and none of them seem to work. I work all day today so I can't physically go to the post office today and ask.

Has anyone has this happen before?

I paid for Priority and 3-Day Shipping, which obviously isn't happening. I have a month until my GC expires, but I'm more confused on where they're trying to take my package.

I know USPS can sometimes act up, but I use it a lot, and I've never had this happen before. I'm trying to not worry but I have a lot going on and this is just adding to my stress level, I honestly feel like I'm going to have a panic attack at work.

If anyone has dealt with similar circumstances or knows a way I can actually talk to a human being from USPS, I'd really appreciate it. :(

My guess is there was a problem with your postage paid. Have you tried googling the post office you used as a drop off and talk to a live person at that post office? I know it is just about impossible to get a live person through the 800#.

The post office I use does passport applications, using that number I am able to get in touch with a real person. Maybe try that?

Sorry, I couldn't be anymore help.

Good Luck!

There are two USPS offices, both numbers on google just link to the 1800 number.

I paid the postage at the office, which was $18 and some change. I'm not sure why that would be an issue. :(

Try googling passport location and usps see if that will give you a number for scheduling, then maybe a live person will answer?

Postage or address. I would imagine the address as they would have checked postage at the post office. Walk into your post office and ask, don't bother with the 1-800 number.

It was the correct address listed on the USCIS website for the P.O. Box. I will walk in tomorrow but what is that going to do? Will they give me my package back? Is it just sitting there and they are going to send it out again? It doesn't show it's out for delivery or anything so I don't know if they're trying to return it back to me?

You can call them or email them. :)

I will try emailing but the number doesn't lead me to a real person. :(

They will be able to tell you why it was sent back....that's what it will do. They can answer those things you're asking right now. I'm not saying you sent it to the wrong address or didn't pay proper postage....it could be their mistake. Going in and talking with sort it out.

Best bet is definitely stopping in to the office that it's listed at personally. That way you are guaranteed to talk to someone face to face.

I know is hard to speak with someone. After you call, press 0( customer service), the robot will aswer and put you to tell it the reason of call. Say it, then press 0, ans so...until the customer service will answer. You need patient, because it will take some time, but it will work in the end. When i applied for aod, i had the same problem and i called them 'till they answer. You need a lot patient. Keep pressing 0 and chose the reason for call.

Or you can go to the postal office and they will do it for you :)

everything will be ok :)

Thank you all for the advise. I managed to jump through some hoops and talk to someone at the post office directly.

Apparently, they think the computer scanned the "from" address instead of the "to" address and that's why it just bounced around in the state. I had printed the address out on paper so it was clearly written, so not sure why that occured.

A man at the post office went and found my package and put it aside so I can come in first thing tomorrow and fix it. I'm so relieved.

He said we can repackage it so I don't have to pay twice etc but I'm thinking of just doing an express flat-rate box instead of priority if that's an option? Also I don't know if I should print out another thing for the address or just hand write it with a sharpie at the office?

I personally don't see why you would want to pay so much more for express, but that is my opinion.

Printed or handwritten doesn't matter, as long as your handwriting is legible. If you're unsure, print it.

The reason I want to do Express is so it can get there faster and it would be one less thing I have to worry about. Price isn't an issue.

I ask about printing or hand writing because I printed my own label on this current package and the guy said the computer read the from address as the to address so I didn't want that to happen twice.

Then I don't know why you bothered asking. You sound like you've already made up your mind. So just go with it.

I was more or less just thinking (typing, rather) out loud.... didn't know if anyone had any issues with Express versus Priority as I've never used Express before. :/
