SITUATION OF VISA APPROVAL EVEN ADMISSION OF TRYING MARIJUAN IN THE PAST

Hi, need to ask an important question. Even if you admit you tried marijuana 9 years ago (20 years old back then was in college), is there a chance that you can still get my 1R-2 visa approved during the interview?

I was scheduled to see a psychiatrist before my visa interview. I've been seeing negative feeds about this.

Any success stories that you can share?

Thanks!

There have been some that have passed without a problem with a admittance of smoking marijuana. Best thing to do is be honest about your drug use. And at this point in time it's going to be up to the CO as to whether they pass you or not. Can't say for sure because it's a case-by-case basis. My gut feeling is 9 years ago I think you'll be okay.

I know of a few that admitted to smoking pot in the past, they saw the head shrink, they are now in the USA. As long as you are not a current used (or dealer) all should be fine.

The CO will have the medical report and your psychological report and so they will know about your marijuana escapade. So if the CO asks just be honest and answer their questions. Do not go into a long story as this may give a reason for more questioning and don't bring it up if they don't ask. That's a road you don't want to go down.

After your interview please return back and let us know what has taken place. Good luck

The U.S. Embassy Manila has loosened up their chonki policy over the years. My prediction is that the consular won't ask any questions about it.

Really? What made you say that? But how come I read from a post 2 yrs ago that the applicant still got denied?

The reason I think you will be approved is because I've seen several cases here on VJ over the years that are the same as your case. They were approved.

Please post the link to the case which you are citing.

Will try to look for it again. Can you share some links as well? Good reads can definitely make me feel more hopeful. Thank you!
