at least two people here had interviews and they said it was requested for married couples not K1 Visa, and that paper don't cost that much so it worth having , just in case, and it shows the Egyptian marriage history and if he ever had kids , that all not a big deal, its good to be ready . i don't know about K1 tho.

its issued easily in Egypt !

can you explain, why you don't want any one to even keep it for its own records ? its authentic paper showing marriage history and kids for the Egyptian person.

So are you setting the immigration rules for egyptions?
The harm comes from listening to any one telling false information.
Why you asking every one to do somthing not requier wasting their money and time instead of focusing to bring what the embassy asked them to show in the interview letter.
When they ask for The affidavit of of marital status may be they suspecting fraud.so why you wanna every one to put his or her case In other people situation .

every case have its own circumstances.

Not really setting any rules for anyone , its just a suggestion based on other people interviews, so its a good idea to have it, just to eliminate any delay. that's all. and every one is free to listen and do it or not. why you are so keen to discourage people from getting it , the whole forum is about sharing ideas and helping others, so that's why i was thinking its not bad idea to have it , being ready and having all kind of paper work is not that bad.

anyway have a good day. thanks for your information.

THEOSSMANFAMILY is correct, its a good suggestion to have one just in case they ask for one, it will save time in and frustration and also saves time in delays in receiving an approval (if all is in good order)

and also pretty nice for the petitioner to know if the beneficiary was married before or maybe still has a current marriage in Egypt..... its happened before, I know first hand of finding out if husband had a current wife in Egypt, especially when they lied and say no.

A good motto to live by: BE PREPARED.

In fact, this form should be required when a (American woman / Egyptian man) go to US Consulate when the lady goes to obtain the 'permission to marry" letter from Consulate for a couple to marry in Egypt. That there would save a lot of time and fraud and heart ache for the American woman especially if they plan do the visa process to bring husband to USA and the husband was not honest with her.

Sadly the US Consulate don't require this ........ this should be changed.

I agree. Definitely be prepared. If you bring an extra piece of paper it won't hurt.

If they don't ask for it then you don't need to show it.

We brought all our case documents to the interview. We had what they asked for and we had backup copies just in case.

It's much better to be prepared with everything you can get/bring.

Otherwise you'll just be in AP and waiting longer for your visa.

i got my interview , and i got this paper in case they asked for ,, yes its not required , but for your record , also they dont required pictures for you but sometime they asked for ,, in my case wasnt required 2015 income tax , but the first lady asked me if i have any update for AOS , and i was have it with me so she take it and give me back the other one i sent it to NVC , and there was another guy almost same case and present the same same ,, and they asked him to show some pictures and dont asked him for AOS .. i think if u have everything with u ,definitely they not gana asked u to submit it another day and this will make ur prove come late ,, so its too easy to avoid this having everything u have with u in the interview time , and i dont think if u have some documents or proves with u this will harm ur case but in the end just"" DONT SHOW NOTHING UNLESS THE ASKED FOR IT"""

thats it .thanks everybody here in VJ this was really useful ...
