You mean someone like Omar Mateen would no longer enjoy his constitutional rights? That would be a pity, wouldn't it? It is surely more important for an individual like Mateen to enjoy his constitutional rights than it is for the 49 people he slaughtered as a result of those very rights to enjoy theirs. Brilliant. Believe me.

The point is allowing government to get away with stripping rights. Why stop at the second, why not suspend all constitutional rights to someone put on the list. Besides, Omar Mateen wasn't even on the list, so our vaunted government made a decision at some point that deemed him no longer a threat. Another post mentioned a review of the watch list is already in place, and the government is allowed to veto a purchase when they are contacted if a name shows up on the list, so why do we need more laws or action by congress?

Maybe we could take it a step further and dry anyone on it the right to vote, or we could have the right to search them without a warrant. Maybe cut off welfare benefits.

Heck let's just put people in jail we think might be up to something.

Voting is not a Constitutionally protected right, only discrimination preventing someone from voting is prohibited. Many think it should be, but it's not.

And we routinely deny people ''the right to vote'' as it stands now.
