Manila Affidavit of Support

Hello everyone, this question is for those familiar with the Manila consulate and their requirements for the I-134.

The consulate website says a completed I-134 and the most recent tax return and W2s are required. I have those and will be sending those to my fiancée.

However it goes on to say that employment letters and bank statements may be included, which to me sounds as if it's optional.

If I just send my tax return transcript and W2s would that suffice? My income is about 600% of the poverty level so I would imagine that would be enough.

I just want to limit the number of my documents flying around the world (the tax transcript and W2s are bad enough).

They did not ask me for my husband's (who was my fiancee then)bank statements/proof of employment...same thing with my parents interview about 3weeks ago. But in case they did and applicant won't be able to provide them at the interview, they will email you telling you to send them...once they received them, they'll review and release the visa.

Yes the most recent tax return and W2 are listed as required. Bank statements, employer letter and such are not.... so don't bother with them. Most simple complete the I-134, include a copy of their most recent tax return and W2.

(tax transcripts work as well)

And as noted, many times USEM isn't even asking for support evidence with the K-1 ... most times. ... not always.

Tax transcripts are the best way to go. They are free to order online and you can have them in less than ten days. I ordered mine and this is what am sending since I hear CO's prefer to have transcripts from the IRS rather than copies of tax return.
