Theoretically you could, but I'd be worried that the documents etc wouldn't be all together after his case number changes.

Yes, also if I send in documents and they receive and approve it before a new case number is given then all documents will be forwarded to us embassy or consulate in manila instead of montreal which will only cause further delays and confusion. I guess my best bet is to email NVC and request for a new case number and wait until that is done before sending in requested documents by nvc. His answer that "it can take a while" for case number to be updated definitely put me down today but still hoping for the best.

Sent an email to NVC to request a new mvc case number on june 17 and received an email today june 21 :D

The National Visa Center (NVC) changed the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General processing xxxxxxx's petition to the Embassy/Consulate General in MONTREAL, CANADA. Your new case number is MTLxxxxxxxxx .

To continue processing your immigrant visa case, you will need to designate an agent. Please complete Form DS-261 (Online Choice of Address and Agent). We will send instructions for paying the immigrant visa application fee after processing your DS-261. We will send all future correspondence to the agent you selected.

Quick question.. and i hope one of you can answer the for me asap.

i just realized now that they only provided me with a new case number on the email response so the Document cover sheet that I have still has the old (MNL) case number on it. Should I email NVC and request a new document cover sheet?
