Hello everyone,

I am a Nigerian with a Nigerian passport. I am married with kids and i work in construction company here in Nigeria.

I was appointed by my company to participate in an international conference which holds in USA. Of course, my company will sponsor the trip and they have provided me with all the necessary documents for my visa application which includes

MEMORANDUM AND ARTICLE OF ASSOCIATION OF THE COMPANY
CERTIFICATE OF INCORPORATION
INVITATION LETTER
COMPANY ACCOUNT STATEMENT
FLIGHT ITINERY AND RESERVATION

Although, My company Attorney have orientated me. However, this is a personal effort to ensure i don't get turn down. Furthermore, i am holding a virgin passport.

1. Does this reduce the chance of having my application approve?

2. What are the likely questions i should expect to prepare myself?

3. Do i need to include my personal statement of account alongside the supporting
documents listed above?

4. Do i need to present prove of my marital status?

5. What other things should i be aware of?

Thanks for your time for answering my querries.

What does your company hope to gain by sending you to a construction conference in the US? Why are you being sent and not someone else? Why is this conference of interest?

What is a virgin passport? Like never been used before?

Have you ever traveled out of Nigeria and returned home?

What money do you have to show in your account to pay for incidentals not covered by your company?

How much time do you need in the U.S.? Why?

Do you own property in Nigeria?

Good luck

1. Yes, having travelled before would help, but too late for that now.

2. Harpa gave some examples. The questions will be of two tyupes a) why aree you going? why you, why to the USA, why now etc. b) what ties do you have to Nigeria, why wil you come home?

3.No, you will be asked at interview.

4. You dont have to, but it may help.

Being an education program, we hope to gain exposure to trending and state of the art development in constuction and homewares facilities and my active involvement as a design engineer of the company for the past seven years may have been the reason for being delegated and moreso, the conference is the largest gathering of construction engineers in North America.

Is my wedding certificate enough?

Those are just pointer questions what Nigerians call expo.

Dont take for granted that your certificate of discipline in school should be directly proportional to the conference you are opting for lol. it sounds simple BUT it knocked my brother off (denied) his B2 visa for a conference.
