Hello All!

I'm hoping some of you might be able to get me started on the right path.

I am a US citizen and have been with my BF in Argentina for 6+ years. We have 2 children together and until recently, had every intention of being based in Argentina permanently.

However, just recently, we have received an offer on our property here and now have the intention of selling in which case we would move to the US.

My Arg BF has a B1/B2 visa and has been back and forth for 20+ years so has a great history.

Right now, we don't know what the easiest thing to do is. Our intention is to move to the US and buy a residence there.

1) Should we a) apply for a fiancee visa now (we are 6+ months away from moving). We have no problems getting married. But if we go this route, can he go to the US before it's approved or would he need to stay here in Arg until then?

2) Would it be better to enter the US on his B1/B2 visa and then get married there and simply apply for adjustment of status? If we do this, does he have to stay in the US while it's pending or would he be able to go back/forth btw Argentina and the US while it was pending?

3) In terms of proving the ability to support himself - he actually as been supporting me for the past few years and will enter the US with more than enough money to support him/our family for the foreseeable future. He also currently as a US bank account and we can deposit all that money in his bank account.

4) Or should he apply for an investor visa? Or athlete visa (he would qualify as a professional rider)

Thank you so much for any/all advice in advance - feeling a bit overwhelmed.

You are awesome - thank you. In terms of not working - does that mean he could not be self-employed? He wouldn't be looking to work for someone else but probably in the future would work as a 1099 (independent contractor)

It's NBD if he can't work right away - whatever we have to do is fine - just trying to figure out what is the easiest route of course.
