Fuzzness,

Just a thought, but my sister has 4 cats and she is allergic to them. She just goes to the doctor and gets allergy shots. Perhaps if your wife was willing to do this, too??

Yes I am very willing to get a shot every month...I will be taking shots twice a day for diabetes, what's one more yanno? In answer to Jane's comment....Joel's mom was NOT allergic to Zoe before he left. In fact, she would sit on the sofa WITH Zoe on occasion. She could very well have brought Zoe with her, to us, on her last visit down here too. She could have also tried to find Zoe a home. There were way too many options than the one she chose.

KarenCee,

I did not ask if this is a monthly injection or weekly or what . All I know is she MUST have them or find homes for her cats, which she would NEVER do . She has had cats for about 30 years now. Great if you want to look into these allergy shots !

My mother put my cat down yesterday. The reason? She was allergic, badly. She didn't try to give her away or try to keep her outside (like she is between spring and fall). She just put her down. She was 12 years old, not ancient. I should have brought her with me. I don't want to see my mother anymore. This cat had gone through so much with me and didn't give a damn what I was like at any given moment, she just loved me.

My heart goes out to you! I had a hard time when my mom put my dog down, and my dog had bathroom issues and was senile. I can't imagine if my dog had been perfectly healthy. :(
