Medical exam - mistake on form

Hi,

I am going for my interview soon but I think the doctor has made a mistake when filling out my medical form. He has said that something I have is a class A condition when I know it to be class B.

He has not read the guidelines while I have.

I am wondering does anyone know, if I explain this mistake to the interviewer at the embassy can they override what the doctor said if they see that I am right?

Or do they just believe what the doctor writes?

I'm so annoyed about this because the doctor is wrong and there seems to be nothing I can do about it.

The most that you could do is speak with the doctor and ask them why they marked it as a Class A instead of a Class B.

And now for the Boiler question.

What condition do you have, that the Doctor feels makes you inadmissable?

I read your other thread about having Latent TB. I think they are classifying this as Class A, because even though your TB is latent, there is a chance that in the future, if left untreated, it can become active and be spread to others.

You should consult a physician about treatment for Latent TB

Here is some additional information.

1. If you have Latent TB, but did not get the Chest X-ray, they will not sign the Medical form, thus Class A.

2. If you have Latent TB, and had an abnormal X-ray, it is at the Physicians discretion to sign the Medical form.

3. If you have Latent TB, and had a normal X-ray, the physician should have signed your medical form.

Why they chose to do what they did is all speculation, and the only person with the answer will be the physician themselves.

I have latent tb and a normal x-Ray. I know the doctor should have signed the form but he has gotten confused, in the guidelines it talks about if treatment for tuberculosis disease is needed you are class A, I do not have active disease but the consultant I saw suggested the treatment for latent tb and the doctor is saying that makes me class A.

I have written to him to explain but I'm not sure if he will listen.

What I am wondering is. If he signs it as class A and I explain at the embassy can they override what the doctor said?

Does anyone have an experience like this?

Maybe have a second medical, did the doctor send the paperwork directly to the Embassy, or hand it to you to deliver. It might be worth having a second panel physician evaluate your case.

As for the Embassy overriding what the doctor said, I would think it is unlikely, the CO's are not trained medical staff, and have to rely on the physician's record.

What about the guideline point that says--

Any applicant for whom the clinical suspicion of tuberculosis is high enough to warrant treatment for tuberculosis disease, regardless of laboratory results, is considered to have tuberculosis disease and is Class A for Tuberculosis.

Maybe because a specialist prescribed medication, you are stuck with Class A. Have you started the treatment?
