Mine is a nurse as well we passed.

There you are... one more couple I know of. :)

This process is very straight forward simple, follow the process, be in a genuine relationship and the odds of being denied are minimal... as you now know. ;)

It was scary hearing the deniles first hand my fiancee is a nurseas well and she was so scared because it seemed the councilors didn't like nurses today for some reason.

They have nothing against nurses I'm sure. But I bet they get a lot of nurses and caregivers applying to tourist visas which they deny. Which is probably how the rumors they hate nurses came about.

Tourist visas wouldn't be processing through the IV unit.

yes, but the rumor mill in the Philippines would tie it all together as one unit, the US embassy.

I was only mentioned it because they saw them get denied while they were there.

I would bet 96% of tourist visas get denied... care takers or not.

Once saw Bourney post that the stats say 25% of visas are denied at USEM. But that throws work, family, k-1 and tourist all together. I'd like to see those stats broken out.

I'd also guess there was a lot more going on than just the education background of those K-1s that got denied that day.

non-immigrant visa denials are almost 28% for the Phils. Haven't found stats for immigrant visas yet.

Can he petition me for K-1 visa? What would be the best option?

Finish your annulment first, so you won't have any problems with the USCIS, the embassy, or the CFO.

HELP!!! I'm married here in manila is 2011 and y husband left for the US as an immigrant. After morethan a year, we separated. In 2014 he filed for divorce and I got the notice of dissolution of marriage but not the final decree yet. When he filed, he wasnt a citizen yet. I doubt if he is now.

This year, I got into a relationship with my colleague from our US main office and the relationship is fairly new. However, we are exploring the possibility of me joining him as his wife.

Can he petition me for K-1 visa? What would be the best option?

Is there anyone here who is familiar with Philippine marital laws? Id appreciate any insight on this. Thank you!

An annulment is not needed as long as your divorce from you EX in the USA is final, like said earlier your Notice of Dissolution of Marriage may be the final document (depends on the state where the divorce was filed). I hope you have found a way to check with the state/county where the divorce was filed since you started this topic. Once you know for fact your divorce is final you can start the K-1 process.

You can not get married in the Philippines, but you can get married anywhere else. The K-1 visa is for getting married in the USA ... where divorces are fully recognized ;)

Thank you all! Very informative. The case is with San Mateo County, CA and yes i'm requesting for a cope of the decree.

Annulment takes years here and though eventually, I really want my marriage herw in my country to be annulled, i'm trying to figure out to be with my boyfriend and get married.

You have a good plan, get your divorce decree from California, complete your K-1 visa process. Then later for your peace of mind complete the annulment.

I would make sure to bring a copy of YOUR divorce decree, along with your fiance's if he was divorced also.

Thank you! And this may sound stupid :( but the requirement to bring cenomar (which i obviously wont have) or marriage certificate, do i need to bring that along with my divorce decree? It just sounds contradicting to me.
