Hello all!

So my finace had his rescheduled interview this morning and he was denied. I am absolutely heartbroken. My fiance told me that the CO didn't even look through our evidence, not suprised by this. But she told him that she was not convienced and claim that it was because their was no picture of his mom and I. In retrospect, I wish we has been more forceful with this part. I had skyped with her a few times and I didn't have the sense to screenshot them. So please learn from my mistake. Mind you this is what he has told me since I was not there. He also stated that he got confused with one question that was asked differenly. I will have a more detailed conversation with him later after both having a bit of time to reflect so that there are no unnecessary arguments.

I immediately sent an email to my congressman and left voice messages. Hopefully they can get back to me quickly.

But I hope you all take my experience as a way to make it through your process with even less mistakes. Even though we had great evidence, with this Embassy it doesn't take much to undermine it and all the hard work and time put into it.

Have a good day all.

You do not have photographs from when you met?

Unfortunately no. I took a picture with his grandfather and that was added. But even now I am still scratching my head on this one. So no need to add to it please. I think I got so preoccupied with all the other evidence, that this part slipped my mind. So I'm kicking myself pretty hard right now.

So sorry about your denial. Did your case have any other red flags? Are you older than him? Different religions? Did you marry on your first meeting? Have you had a long relationship with lots of visits?

From read the forums it seems that Ghana wants specific things - but I had not heard of them needing pictures with parents.

Let's try and sort this out so when you refile you'll be better prepared.

good luck

Hey Hun so sorry . It was me u and mrsgrant that were reschedule for no reason . Did u read my post . Last Thursday, We got sent away to come back with no explanation and nothing more needed. I did have pictures of me and his family and vice versa and skype and FaceTime screenshot and we still weren't approved but sent away so trust me it's not the real reason . If it was KM she is very picky with who she wants to go through with the k-1. contemplating to get my senator involved or just wait it out hmmn but it will be ok

So sorry to hear his visa was denied. I have my k-1 visa interview next week and frankly am getting nervous to hear that they don't even check the documents they themselves have asked us to present as evidence.

a screen shot with your mother in law isn't what they want and a simple screen shot wouldn;t have made a difference. They wanted real life pictures of you with her.

not skype screenshots but photos of you meeting mother

Ghana, unforunately is high fraud, forget reapplying for K1 again if you think that way

go, and marry, and start collecting positive proof of relationship

write to some others here in high fraud, get an idea from them what you will need

my friend jeanne of adiljeanne went thru K 1 and CR 1 (Morocco also high fraud) ask her what she had to do

Best of luck to you

Guayaquil is hard embassy but not like you go thru

Sorry to hear that my fellow Ghanaian. Go to court and marry him and come back and file CR1/IR. That one is moving pretty fast now. There's none you can do right. No need to argue with him because nothing was his fault. That embassy is being hard on the K1 now. Since last year, I can't count how many people I know who got refused not on this platform. It's like they're trying to abandon that route for some odd reasons. Good luck and stay strong.

Probably just as you said. It's a high fraud country and the embassy is tough. You almost need twice as much proof of the relationship. If you don't then denied, denied, denied. I wish them Good luck, research on country specific forum to help out and make sure to get all the proof needed and then some.

It has been suggested over and over again that Lagos and Ghana should include plenty of family photos showing everyone together,

especially with parents, as the embassies take this as an acceptance of the parents of a fiance/spouse for their son/daughter.

In other words they are in agreement of fiance/spouse selection. Not rubbing it in OP, but for the sake of others reading it should be repeated.

Having said that, others have had plenty of such and were still denied.

Request a second interview (be there on the premises if it is granted) through the senator but it likely won't be happening and

they will return the K1 and USCIS will let it expire.

If AP is marked on the 221g then you can wait it out.

If it's being returned then marry and do a CR1.

My fiance and I were denied a K1 visa too. We waited a while year to hear back from the embassy after they told us to contact them in one year only to be told that his petition had expired the year before. We went ahead and got married two months later and are now going through the CR-1 process. I recommend you guys doing the same or getting a head start on starting the K1 process again. Getting a K1 appealed is very difficult and unlikely. Rather than wasting the time appealing, get in with a new petition while the process is short.
