We got packet three on march 19th which is my birthday! :o best present ever! and our interview date is april 13th which is on a friday :o we are rushing to get everything done. all my stuff is done and now im helping sonia over the phone with her stuff. They gave her a 1-134 support form dated 1983! can you believe that!! anyway I already had the 2007 forms and completed it. Now about translation, does she need to get everything translated? we are both not sure on this any help would be great :).

Congratulations on your interview schedule! :thumbs: As for your question, I'm not sure what documents need to be translated during the interview, sorry. I'm sure others who went through the same consulate like yours can help you out...

Official documents need to be translated. The translator needs to certify that the translation is complete and accurate, and that they are competent to do the translation.

These are docs like birth certificate, marriage/divorce certificates, name changes, police certificate etc. Good luck our interview is on the 11th, right before yours! :)

Francesco y Sonia Congrats!!

I can say that yes official documents need to be translated as previously stated. Not too sure if the police records need to be done, but it can not hurt. I do know that the birth certificates need to go through the RENIEC and then to the Relaciones Exteriores. At the Relaciones Exteriores there is a panel of translators to translate your documents after they've been given their "official stamp."

Anyways I hope others going through the Peru Consulate may share their experiences. Please keep me posted too since our 129f has arrived to the Consulate just last week 3-14. Here's hoping for a speedy K1 approval. There's also some info posted on the Peru Embassy page here on VJ!

I've been told that documents that you have to take to the embassy do not have to be translated. Only documents that are sent to USCIS have to.
