Trying to get things done now

Maybe Im getting ahead of myself here but have a couple of questions of what I can be doing now to prepare for the packet from Montreal... I know it is going to be awhile (just sent I-129f to Chicago Friday) before I need this stuff but I dont want any delays when the time comes to get things sent back..

we will need a RCMP check WITH fingerprints for my husband...in reading through other posts others have said that check with fingerprints take longer than just a name check.. If Im reading correctly the checks are good for a year...So is it too early to go ahead and get the check done now?

we will be using my mother as a joint sponsor...shes already filed her taxes for this year, should I have her start gathering her info now for the I-864..It says that you can provide an IRS transcript OR a photocopy of your most recent tax return..I have read that others send in at least the last 3 years, just to be safe.. what is most recommended..a transcript or photocopies? 1 year or 3 years? Has anyone else used a joint sponsor for a K-3? How long do IRS transcripts take to get after being requested?

my husband didnt have his long form birth certificate, so we got that ordered last week, so at least we can mark one thing off of our list..

its almost 130am and Im just sitting here with a pile of forms reading and re-reading, I think I need to go to bed!

Fingerprinting can take awhile (states above 120 days!!) So one may want to get cracking on that

thanks Flames9! will get going on this now! My husband had an incident when he was 17 years old (he will be 50 in April) and was caught stealing those little bottles of alcohol from a hotel... he has no paperwork, but said he was fingerprinted, and had to go to court and pay a fine...no jail time at all.. just before he got his passport last year he had a name check (no fingerprints) and nothing showed up..but we just want to be on the safe side with the fingerprints...

I agree that it would probably be smart to get going on the fingerprints now.

As for the tax info - only one year is required, and that's what we sent in. As long as the income for that year is good I wouldn't send anything extra. Also, we just sent a photocopied return and that was fine too. Don't make it harder on you then it has to be
