Sorrt ? I didn't get your question!

Sorry I mean the embassy should tell you the reason why it was sent back when you contact them.

We know each other for 11 months now, he visited me 3 times. Every time for a week!

By the way I know someone got the visa and his fiancee visited him just one time. They got engaged and when she left and applied for the k1 visa , he had his interview and he got the visa !

Did you know each other for 11 months and seen each other 3 times before or after you filed your initial I129F petition?

Everyone gets put in AP. Did they keep his passport? Say he was approved? Request more documents? etc

They didnt keep his passport but the CO also never said he was being put on AP. He just told him that he will review the documentation and make a determination on the case. When my fiance asked how long does that usually take, he said I cant give you a time frame.

I think that might be the reason why. Typically, for "high fraud" countries (and North Africa is on the top of that list), they wanna see more face to face time BEFORE the filing of the application. COs usually make their decision before the interview when they review the application. And COs are under the presumption of "how did you only meet once and suddenly decide you want to get married".

I understand that there was a case where someone met his fiance only once and got approved, however, that cannot be your main basis of comparison. Those types of cases in high fraud countries are really rare plus luck always plays a factor.

Again, I would like to ask the same questions, how many times did you visit your fiance prior to filing the application?

Lastly, this is for future reference when you guys decide to file again or go the CR1 route, its always advisable to be with your fiance at the interview as it helps tremendously.

We met 2 times, each trip was over 10 days each. Keep in my mind I am an Egyptian-American-Muslim girl, culturally, I cant keep traveling back and fourth to meet my fiance without family and with family here, it adds up in terms of flights, accommodations, etc.

Thank you, I wish for you the best guys. In sha Allah

Hi I  was wondering.. I read that you were going through this AP nightmare for 2 1/2 yrs... we are also in the middle of this terrible nightmare.. My husband is from Egypt as well and he had his interview June 21, 2016. they requested his family history ( which he gave them after 2 days) and put him in AP. Since that time we have only seen a few updates. it's been 15 months now and it's very frustrating as you know well. Our last update was Aug. 24th and 28th and before that it was back in Jan. I've had Congress look into it 8 months back with no avail. I want to know for how long you sat in AP itself and did you have to redo your medical/ police report and other necessary paperwork needed in the interview?

Thank you kindly,

Lisa
