He cannot tell you if you're approved or not until your medical reports are present, then a decision can finally be made. Asking for passport is also a good sign.

I think you'll get approved today (or within this week) in shaa Allah. You can always email and ask about the status of the case, but you'll most likely get a typical answer (the usual copy/paste, "you're under mandatory AP .. bla bla". Just wait it out - 4 weeks isn't too long anyway. And keep checking the CEAC status for updates.

Also, remember that they've just had gone through Eid holiday, so more backlogs are created during that time period.

Remember that AP is the lowest priority at embassy level (and maybe at all levels). That means they'll rarely take a look. If it involves security checks, it'll take a lot more time. BUT it varies from case to case, so some are looked at quicker than others.

And yes, red flags definitely made this process take a longer time (based on several evidences, I hypothesized that they didn't even look at the case for the first 4 months, only few days after that I was actually approved and background checks started then).

I hate their copy paste email. Cause I have specific questions!

He couldn't tell me if I'm approved or not cause he didn't have my medical report, but they had my medical report on June 18th, so it's my right to know if I'm approved or not and I want to know if there are any missing documents or not!

And I really hope to be approved this week inshAllah!

Even if you had it, he would have still said "You'll get your visa within 2 weeks", but you'd have gotten it within the first week.

One thing I know for sure is that being completely ready at the interview ensures the quickest processing time for an approved visa. Anything submitted after interview is handled at a much later time, but is normal still.

I was completely ready for the interview.. I called the hospital to ask for the documents they need for the medical examination and one of the documents was the interview letter which means I had to set up the appointment first. The embassy sent me an email on June 5th to set up my interview, the only available date was June 7th!!! My interview was in 2 days. I emailed them to tell them about the medical examination they said it's okay you can come to the interview then have your medical examination and submit it by Aramex!!

What was funny that the k1 visa doesn't have interview letter and in the hospital they didn't ask to see anything but my passport!!

As far as I know, the "interview letter" is not provided for any K1 visa, maybe the only document you're provided with is by the NVC, which contains the USCIS's petition case number as well as the NVC's assigned case number, has full names of both petitioner and applicant.

Also, the "interview letter" is usually provided by the NVC to IR1/CR1 cases containing the scheduled interview date (by NVC), but it also has the same exact information.

All of which is provided prior to the interview and contain no important info to the examining hospital/doctor except for the following: case #, petitioner and applicant's full name.

Other additional information required you can provide such as email address, designated U.S address, passport # (they usually ask for photocopies), 5 photographs.

There's no reason to reminisce now, whatever happened has happened and couldn't have happened any other way. In shaa Allah, it'll be ok.

Salam alykum everybody :)

I sent an email today to the the embassy to ask them if there are any missing documents required ( I know they will send the same email that my case is undergoing mendatory AP............ )

But I was thinking like "Hello, I'm here" lol

They didn't reply at all.. Is that normal to ignore the emails ? Cause they normally reply in 10 ~ 30 minutes!!

Actually, the usual for them is to respond next business day morning - only sometimes they respond within a few minutes during the day. Also, today is the 4th of July, a public holiday in the U.S. so you'll have to wait until tomorrow to get a response (the embassy is off/closed today).

Oh, I forgot that they are closed today !

They used to respond to my emails at the same day in few minutes!

Just google it, you will find that they are closed today..

I see that it says closed today. There's no obvious reason why it should be: no Egyptian or American holidays.

So unless Google is wrong, they're open. Also, they might just be closed to the public only, and there might an official visiting the embassy like their president - but it is supposed to be a normal working day.

Could be ... we won't really know.

I think it's closed to the public only cause they responded my email today.

"The email that I sent on July 4th".

The sent me that!

Dear Madam,
Please note that we have received the medical exam, the case now is under the officer’s review.

Best regards,
Cosular Section,
F.H

they already sent me before to say that they received the medical report and I'm on AP and bla bla bla...

so the officer's review is the same thing of AP but in different words I think. Lol
