What red flags ?

Yes the CO asked me these questions too and I answered them .. actually I expected those questions and I answered everything very easily Alhamdulillah..

Oh I meant you should answer them here, or address them yourself to know exactly whether there are red flags or not.

I edited the post to include these 2 possible red flags too:

-Different religious backgrounds?

-Age difference/gap?

I'd be curious to know your answer to the question "why we are going to get married in the US not Egypt?"

In case you're wondering why I'm asking all these questions, I can tell you right now that I've been, like several others, at the same window, window 14, and were interviewed by the same guy too: white male, brown hair, 35~40 years old, green eyes.

Not to set you off or anything, but it looks like that this guy usually handles cases with red flags that they intend to put on a long Administrative Processing. (At least 3 more people here, Went through AP at the same guy/window).

However, you shouldn't worry at all because every case is different, and I sincerely wish you don't go through any of the pain most of us had to go through with AP (7+ months of AP).

But always prepare yourself for the worst to avoid unexpected delays and please keep us updated.

I think yeah he is the same guy :)

Both of us are muslims.. my fiancé is 8 years older than me which is ok I think..

We will get married at the US cause he has 2 kids and he takes them for 2 weeks in the summer, so just 1 week left from his work holidays and that's not enough to get married in Egypt. So he agreed with my family to get engaged in Egypt and get married in the US inshAllah..

I've been told before that it will be different for me as a female so it should be easier inshAllah.

Anyway I am preparing myself for the worst .

It's all in Allah's hands, not the CO in window 14 :)

One more thing:

When you check the CEAC website for the case status .. Does it show "IMMIGRANT" or "NONIMMIGRANT" at the top of the status window? Does the "Case Created" (NOT "Case Last Updated") date show as June 18, 2017 or later?

It shows immigrant..

Yeah the case is created on May 8th.

Last updated on June 18th. When they got my passport and the medical report.

What does that mean ? :)

That's exactly what I wanted to hear from you! that's the spirit!

May Allah make it easy for you and us.

1 more thing lol :) : You said he asked for evidence. Did you give him like photos, documents or both? Did he take his time to look at them? or maybe they'll take a look at em some time later (very possible, if there are plenty of chat logs, phone logs, etc.).

Usually, on a K1 visa case, when both days match and "immigrant" is changed to "nonimmigrant" it's considered a sign of approval on the case, even if status is AP.

We're as patient as we can .. but everything has its limits.

I rarely heard of the rejection part after requesting the passport. Especially, if you have a good solid case, or after being approved, which is the case for most of us here despite the red flags.

Please, don't be. I didn't mean to make you worried - I was carefully analyzing the situation to make I can give you an accurate opinion. Taking evidence is a good sign, it means they have an intention to consider approving the case some time soon.

Note that he didn't take any evidence from me or anyone else I mentioned before before going on AP.

Ameen ya rab!

It's very true, before and now even much much more. Their job is to find a reason to deny you, it's upon us to prove why we shouldn't be.

Actually I still can't understand how does the AP work but I'm sure it's a nightmare for us!

I will pray a lot for all people who are on AP and may Allah accept our prayers!

It's back to them If they need to accept it or not , they don't care if you have kids , even If you has no problem in your country or outside , or even there is no red flag , or even how long you are stuck in this process , their job is refusing you for even for no reason.

AP can mean several things: from security and background checks to finishing up any required paperwork like the sealed package that you take with you with the visa (several forms and documents will be included to give the immigration office at the PoE port of entry), and/or issuing/stamping the visa itself.

AP generally has the lowest priority, so it can take several weeks/months before they think "Oh! let's look at this case or clear backlogs".

For those who are approved during interview and expect no security checks, such as yourself (a female), usually takes 2~4 weeks to look at evidence and/or issue the visa and relevant paperwork. This is strictly based on reports and experiences by other VJ members.

For me the CO didn't tell me if I'm approved or not cause I didn't have the medical report.. at the end of my interview he asked me to have the medical examination and send it with my passport by Aramex..

Should I email them to ask if I'm approved or not ? Or if there are any missing documents ?

If the AP as you explained, why it takes much time in some cases ?

You've been waiting for 7 months , so why ?!! Do you think red flags make this process longer ?!

He cannot tell you if you're approved or not until your medical reports are present, then a decision can finally be made. Asking for passport is also a good sign.

I think you'll get approved today (or within this week) in shaa Allah. You can always email and ask about the status of the case, but you'll most likely get a typical answer (the usual copy/paste, "you're under mandatory AP .. bla bla". Just wait it out - 4 weeks isn't too long anyway. And keep checking the CEAC status for updates.

Also, remember that they've just had gone through Eid holiday, so more backlogs are created during that time period.

Remember that AP is the lowest priority at embassy level (and maybe at all levels). That means they'll rarely take a look. If it involves security checks, it'll take a lot more time. BUT it varies from case to case, so some are looked at quicker than others.

And yes, red flags definitely made this process take a longer time (based on several evidences, I hypothesized that they didn't even look at the case for the first 4 months, only few days after that I was actually approved and background checks started then).
