Hey folks, our old forum got shut down a few days ago but finally I found you here :)

I'm sooooo happy for you dillygoose, bookman and the others that I just read from them that they got issued and I have some happy news too, I got issued 3 days ago.

I've been reading a lot in VJ and to tell you the truth I think you all will get issued sooner or later inshaAllah.

Halalbrother and others, don't be sad, everyone gets issued at the end of the long run.

Once again so happy for dillygoose, bookman and others like Kamal(even though it's my first time reading his posts)

Wish you all the best guys and will be reading this forum and keeping you updated when I reach the American soil ;)

Congrats Toni... how long had you been in AP?

Sata, I was put it AP since May 12-th (that was my interview date) and three weeks later -approx- it turned to READY n that's when I kinda got bored bcz it stayed READY for a good minute, then I scheduled an appointment to go to the embassy in person (me and my wife)(don't know if that would be a wise move or not) but just one week before the appointment I received a phone call from the CO that interviewed me telling me that they received a paperwork that wasn't translated (which wasn't my fault actually) and finally just one single day before the appointment my case changed to AP again, so I understood that it was time for me to celebrate with my wife and kids ??? so I cancelled the appointment at the embassy.

That's what you asked me briefly, if you need any other info pls ask me.

I am super frustrated ! Here's a quick update, still under AP my case has been touched since July 28... It was being touched weekly then it stopped. So next Monday marks 60 days since the documents were submitted with Passport. So I emailed consulate today and asked them what's next, specifically asked them if I have to make a congressional inquiry. They anwsered me in less then 15 minutes with this

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your message . The immigrant visa application of Mr. Peña is still undergoing administrative processing in order to verify his qualifications for this visa. Administrative processing often lasts about 90 days, but in some instances, it can take several months or significantly longer.

We realize that these extended time periods cause frustration to many individuals, and we are sensitive to the fact that the purpose of the immigrant visa program is to re-unite families. Nonetheless, the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo, like all U.S. Embassies and Consulates, must adjudicate visas in accordance with the provisions of the law, and, in some cases, this involves extensive administrative processing. While we cannot predict when the processing of the visa for the applicant will be completed, please be assured that the Department of State, including the Embassy, is aware of your concern. We will do all we can to see that the visa is adjudicated as soon as his qualifications have been verified.

As soon as this process is finished, we will contact the Mr. Peña.

We hope this information is helpful, and we regret that our response cannot be more substantive at this time.

If we can be of further assistance dont hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

MC

Consular Communication Unit (CCU)

Embassy of the United States

Santo Domingo

Seems like it might be a long AP for me ?????

@Judith, just be patient and have faith. Me, Hallalbrother and others are nearing our 6th or even 7th month under AP. We have nothing to do but just keep positive and have faith.
