I made a rule for myself which was I would only check twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night.

I break my rule sometimes. But I try not to because whenever I see there's been no change my heart gets extra heavy for a while.

Sometimes it's better to force myself to not think about it.

But it's hard to not check a thousand times a day!

Hi all,

I requested my Congressman to investigate. They answered today. Case was definitely sent to USCIS, they will inquiry with them now.

I called NVC today and they said they had no record of my case being there (mind you, I called Thursday and they specifically said it arrived NVC on Monday 11th.

I am very depressed, it is recommended I find a lawyer. It is expensive. My husband and I have talked about him going to Dubai for work in the meanwhile, or even me trying to invite him to my Parents Country (Dominican Republic) where maybe he can get his papersvesa from there faster and move over there. It is a lot to digest. I just ask God for strength, and to top it off, people talking to me about what if my husband married me just for the visa. It is a real hell. I knew people always had that on the back of their mind, but now they feel more comfortable with the idea of letting it know to me. This is horrible. I just trust in God, that everything will work out for good.

Jissa,

What happened to your case?

I wish easy and fast process for you.

First, I want to say, I'm sorry you have to go through this.

Secondly I want to advocate getting a lawyer. Which is without question expensive. But as I understand it, the congressperson will be limited in what information they can get and how they can help you specifically with the next part of the process.

Thirdly, don't listen to the noise. You know in your heart if there's reason to doubt. If you can keep going on his visa to come here, if you need to change your course and go somewhere else, then God and your heart will tell you.

For us personally, we've been talking about some other plans, in case we are faced with the same situation. None of us are guaranteed visas and we might very well be looking at years before getting them. I don't think we are willing to be apart for years and waiting on the US government. That's just what we decided. Life like this is too horrible and we both feel like we are in this waiting pattern that is keeping everything on hold.

I hope you will keep the faith and keep praying. I will do the same for you and for all of us.

Be strong in your love. There's always reason to hope. Even when it doesn't seem like it.

no need to a lawyer at this stage, only you must collect more evidence about your relationship through the next year beside the two years later.

It is a good idea to go to Dubai or your country Dominican Republic, you can star your life anywhere, and that's the way that KAMAL can prove to you that he didn't marry you for the visa.

Yes, but I wonder if that would cause more problems (he going to another Country). They have not called or email about his passport. Should we request it?

I would not have your fiancé go to another country and think you're going to keep on the same timeline for your visa.

Even though your application is with USCIS now, it has to go back to an embassy to be approved and issued. Another interview has to happen etc then you're adding 2 countries into the mix.

I thought you were suggesting the move so you could be together somewhere in the world?

Salam everyone, I realize that this is topic for AP review in Cairo, Egypt. But I felt AP review is AP review regardless of which you are in. This topic is a lot more active than any other I could relate to so I felt like posting here if you guys done mind. Also, while this forum is very supportive and beneficial this topic is so scary. I just went back about 10 pages to read through everyone's experiences and I am shaken up by the amount of time some of you had to wait. This is ridiculous a husband and wife should not have to wait this long to be together. I pray to Allah that everyone gets united with their loved ones. Please hang in there Allah is great and mercy will come.

I wanted to give a little back story, me and my husband have been married for 5 years now Alhamdulilah :D. We have two kids together ( a daughter and a newborn). My husbands interview was today at the Islamabad embassy at 7am. He literally took a bundle of evidence with him with updated financial information. The CO did not ask him for anything. His interview was less than a minute. He was asked two questions 1. how do we know each other prior to getting married (my husband replied we were neighbors before I moved to the US) 2. Have you or your wife ever been married before (he replied no). Then the CO asked to see our wedding pictures, he flipped through them really fast and said we still need to work on your case you'll hear back from American Express in a month to receive your passport. So his passport WAS kept and he DID NOT receive any white slip that most people are mentioning.

Now I am nervoussssss wreck because I'm reading that they just say that to apparently get you off of their back and can put you in AP review. I did email the embassy this morning because the CO did not tell my husband anything like you are approved nor did he give him any type of white slip. This is the response I got back from them.

"Dear Sir/Madam,

Administrative processing is mandatory for all sorts of visas to the United States. There are no waivers available. We understand that this wait can be frustrating for our applicants. Please rest assured we are making our best effort to finish this processing as soon as possible. Thank you for your kind understanding.

Sincerely,
Correspondence & Support Unit,
Visa Section,
US Embassy, Islamabad.
SN"

I am praying we do not get stuck into AP review for a long time. It's already been too long. The F2A category was already a snail ride to the interview. Lets bring our spouses home INSHALLAH. :D
