After the case is initially approved (after initial AP), there cannot be any updates (like if you call, inquire or anything).

Would you please explain, when you can, the meaning of initial AP and initial approval?

True, I almost had no updates except when the senator called them since the first few ones in the month following the interview

See my previous post for more info:

Remember that the limitations to case updates on CEAC after initial approval is only for K1 and non-immigrant visas.

We have been Denied

We were in AP for just over 6 months. I called the Senator's office for help in status. Just found out from my Senator that our case was denied. I am here in Egypt now with my husband and sent an email to the Embassy in which they replied:

Dear *******

Thank you for your email.  We regret any confusion regarding Mr. ***** immigrant visa application (CRO********).  Our records indicate that Mr. -****** immigrant visa case is being sent to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) with the recommendation that the petition should be revoked because Mr. Ismail was unable to demonstrate that there is a qualifying relationship for this visa category.

If you have any questions or would like additional information you may contact USCIS at www.uscis.gov.

Best regards,

I advise you to respond to them and request a second interview, if the case was not sent to the USCIS yet.

But be ready to refute their claims about the relationships with as many hard evidence as possible.

I sent an email requesting an Emergency Appointment to talk with an officer because I am in Egypt right now with my husband and they responded with:

You need to be persistent in your request. Do not ask for an emergency appointment.

Ask to meet with the officer on the case in order to refute the claims with tangible evidence, right here and now, BEFORE sending it back to the USCIS.

This has worked for others before, so it should work for you too, in shaa Allah.

I have an appointment for the 27th still, should we still go? I don't know if our file has left Egypt yet. How can I request to see the officer who interviewed my husband?

Yes, but you also need to make sure the file hasn't left Egypt. This can be done via email, as well as making an appointment.

This kind of appointment doesn't normally go on the roster at the gate, and is considered a special request.

I'm not sure what appointment you're going to, however, if it's an American Citizens Services kind of appointment then I have no idea if it'll work at all.

Is this you, Mrs Yapici from Cairo immigrants group on fb?

I am really sorry about your denial

i also agree with super Uber suggestion if you can do it

if you will visit the ACS American citizens services section, you can do that without an appointment, my wife did few weeks ago .... just admit to the security at the gate show him ur passport and ask him to let u In because u r a citizen and he will

but it is usually useless because ur case is with the consular section

if the case is sent back to the uscis, don’t lose hope because it happens to many and the uscis will ask u for evidence and then, InshaAllah, they will reaffirm it and then u get approved from the embassy
