I am a regular poster here but I am so paranoid about the CO's reading these boards that I could not post under my usual ID. Don't get me wrong, I love my SO very much and miss him so much but I knew yesterday that he was going to get more papers and pick up his medical results for his interview and I didn't even take his call today because I did not want to even talk about a visa today. I feel so badly because we have our NOA2, our file is at the embassy and I know that we are right there, we are close to being reunited and yet, I am tired.

Anyone else ever feel like this? I really don't know what is wrong with me and I feel so guilty because I remember how much I once missed him right after I filed,I remember the tears when I got the NOA2 ;however, I just need a break from all visa talk.

I don’t feel like that but I am quite positive that my SO does! I have been talking basically non stop about this visa stuff since we started planning it last May (only sent in our I-129F in October). Now and then he makes it clear to me that he just wants to talk about NORMAL stuff with no visa involved. And sometimes he hasn’t taken my calls either due to this. Sorry to my guy!

I just need a break from all visa talk.

:help:

why not just take a break from VISAjourney , instead of creating a new user id and posting in a VISA forum. That is since you want a break from all the VISA talk.

I was trying to convey that I wanted a break from all visa talk with my SO for the time being. I posted in the hopes that someone here could give support.

Hehe, I was thinking the same thing. I mean I understand about being tired of all the visa ####### sometimes, but it is funny to go to all the trouble on a visa forum to write a post about how tired of it you are. I'm not trying to be mean, I just think it's funny.

I suggest getting a good book or something else that you can just lose yourself in for a while. Hang out with friends. Do something you enjoy (or enjoyed in your pre-visa life ;) ) We ALL need a break from it sometimes.

Good luck!

well im sure VJ will supply you with far more visa talk than your SO could possibly do. Why cant you just be straight up with him and tell him that you dont want to talk visa? Thats much better than ignoring his calls, thats kind of "high school" dont you think?

No problem Karoline, maybe it is a little humorous. Maybe I'm losing my mind too, or sense of humor, because it seems perfectly reasonable to me. Nevertheless, at the end of the day, it's just a computer screen :) I'm certainly not going to get upset about that.

On some levels it is and I probably should. Although this was the only time I have ever not taken a call from him. It's just that he's so excited about it all the time and I don't want to put a damper on his enthusiasm, but honestly sometimes I just don't want to hear it.

It's okay to not want to talk sometimes. You shouldn't feel bad about that. Just try to do something to rid yourself of some of the stress and become re-enthused. I'm sure if you just take some time for yourself and do something totally not related to the visa, you will feel much better :)

Yes, I am tired and worn out from the grossly inefficient, arduous, frustrating visa process. I have been since about day "2". B)

However, I can't imagine not taking my wife's calls because I didn't want to talk about the visa. Sometimes the stress from the "visa talk", or something else, for that matter is too much for one or both of us. In that case, we just simply say "let's talk about something else"... changing the subject to something "passionate" often helps

Yes, I can understand not wanting to take the risk of upsetting your SO. Basically if you don't think you can have a pleasant conversation, for whatever reason, sometimes "no conversation" is better.

In any event, be encouraged. I hate the visa process as much (or moreso) than anyone, but I love my wife and can't wait to be with her on a continual basis... not just for "visitation". I suspect you probably feel similar about your SO. If so, then try to keep the faith one day at a time!

This process is very frustrating and tiresome. Of course we all get tired of talking about the visa, so instead of talking to your "Significant Other" about the problems of the visa, how about talking about all the great things you want to do together. It's a lot more fun, and can build towards real plans.

Once you have the visa application in place you just have to let it go until something happens. So, try hard to be positive and think of something else. This part of the government can be very frustrating, but there is an end to it.

Have hope!

My SO is certainly worn out with having to deal with this stuff. It's totally foreign to her--having to deal with the bureaucracy of my government, and she finds going to the Embassy, getting stripped naked, poked and prodded, and checked for every possible disease like she's begging to enter our country; she finds it demeaning, and she questions what she's going to find on the other side if the process to get there is so tedious. She only wants to come to the US to be with me. All things being equal, she'd prefer staying in Kenya. I wouldn't mind that, but there's no work for me there. I think she'd rather not take my calls when I ask for the latest update on what she's done that day. All of the burden is basically on her now, and she doesn't like it at all. It's a good thing she loves me enough to put up with it!

So, yeah, I can sorta understand where you're coming from, but from a slightly different POV.

Thank you all so much for the replies. I just called him and he too admitted to being tired of it all,but wanted to stay upbeat for me! Surely afer that revelation we had a hearty laugh and agreed to spend a few moments hashing out visa updates and after that to move on in our conversation. I love him just so much and that is all that matters! Yes I am tired and so is he,but it's what we have to do to be together. It's what all of us are doing. I guess I just needed to vent.

I'm about ready to have a special notepad printed up that has a list of K1 visa facts, time line guesses, our thoughts on future wedding plans (and why we don't/can't really have anything set right now) and some URLs for helpful sites. That way, I can wear it around my neck, people can tear off a sheet, read-up on it, and I won't have to explain this process EVER AGAIN.

I fell you, tiredandwornout. I hate making my SO listen to me (I'm the talker who keeps bringing it up in our relationship). Hell, I hate listening to me think about it in my own head.

And these boards are like immigration crack. More hits! More hits!!!

You're not alone. The feeling strikes me too sometimes. I'm so fed up with timelines. And I'm not even that far and complicated yet in the journey, still waiting for NoA2.

You're tired yet still on Visa Journey that indicates that you need someone to talk to or to give you feedback or just to need someone to listen to. You can always PM me if you want.

Take some time for yourself, but don't forget you also have to be there sane enough for your SO. Don't let your SO fight alone.
