My fiance has a Japanese driver's license and an International one to use when he's here.

When he drives in the states he terrifies me, and I think it's partially because of the driving being on the opposite side of the rode in Japan and partially because he has pretty much no opportunity to drive in Japan anyway since he takes the train/ rides a bike everywhere.

I had him drive on an empty two lane highway (one way) the first time I let him drive so he could drive in the left lane since he kept swirving that way anyway

He's the UKC and has had a license for 19 years...I'm the USC and have NEVER had any sort of license. I lived in a town in America with decent public transport until I moved to the UK in 1995, so never had a reason to get one. He's taught me whilst we've been on holiday together in America, and apparently I am not too bad. I have to book a test around the time we return. What a weird reversal!

Andre does. He earned his permit and license fair and square. However, it's been about 6 months now and I'd still say "NOT VERY WELL". He scares the ####### out of me!!!! And to add fuel to the fire, he has taken it upon himself to try and teach my 15 year old son how to drive. I just close my eyes and pray.

I live in FL and right now my AC in the car is broken...so the heat is intense...and when my hubby drives....between his driving skills and the heat...my nerves get fried quickly. I KNOW that he needs alittle extra help from some skilled professionals...because it is too much for me.

Just wanted to know how many foreigners can drive a car.

And drive well enough that if possible could go to the DMV and get license just after leaving the airport.

I drive just fine, am totally used to it. But I still haven't gotten my license here 'cus of 1) have been lazy and just drive using an international license, which is accepted here and 2) the test is in spanish and my spanish sucks (we live in PR).

just learned how to drive 4-wheeled car here. hubby taught me. I used to drive a motorcycle way back home.

I didnt drive before I arrived here and I passed my test after having my learners permit for just over 1 week! i dont know what i would do without having a license here!!
