I am hoping so. Today's day 32 in China so hoping this week. Do they notify you at all when they send it ?

There is no notification that it was sent, you can try and call them for the EMS number, but my Fiancee had a hell of a time getting them to provide anything. It just showed up one day, and at the time you made that post, it was only Day 30 in China you crossed 2 holidays that GUZ was closed on May 30 (Memorial Day), and June 9 (Dragon Boat Festival). Both of these would push your time back just a little bit.

My case shows an update on the 17th and now shows administrative processing, so I am assuming the p3 should be coming soon?

Yes that is one thing we all saw, right before P3 arrived we went into AP.

ok so once the NVC processes our petition, they will notify me and give me a case number and all that stuff correct?

How long has it been at the NVC now? I had to call to get my GUZ number. I called about a week after I got my NOA2, and was told they had no new info. I called a week later, got my GUZ number, and was told it was already en route to Guangzhou. It shouldn't take long for NVC to review the packet and send it off...

Standard process is to wait 14 days from NOA2, then call NVC to request your Case Number. NVC should be able to provide you with your GUZ number, you can then track the progress on the CEAC website.

Since your NOA2 was 06-01, you can start calling NVC now to request your case number. When I got my Case # assigned by the NVC (approximately 5 months ago), it only took them 5 days before sending it to the consulate in Guangzhou. However I have been reading by other posters that there is a backlog now.

Still, you are within the standard time from NOA2 that you can call with your USCIS case number to request your NVC case number.

You will need to provide them your case number, the beneficiaries name, and some other details I don't quite remember off the top of my head.

Yeah I called today. They said they have not received it yet and that can take up to 6 weeks. I will call again Friday morning. I just wish when they sent the NOA2 , they included an actual statement of what to do besides just wait. Thank you for the insight.

The best you can do at this point is keep checking the status on the USCIS website and call the NVC every day.

I called NVC and they said my case became active today. She didnt have any information to share with me except my GUZ# and that it would be sent to China. How do I keep track of the flow from here out. The lady said nobody would be sending me any information

Once you have your GUZ# you will follow the status of it on the CEAC website.

And, she is correct, you won't receive any additional information until Packet 4.

When Packet 4 is sent, they send a copy to you, and a copy to the Beneficiary.

Packet 3 will be sent via EMS to the Beneficiary, and takes approximately 30 days from the day the Embassy receives your information from the NVC.

Your Fiancee can start preparing Packet 3 right now, so the moment the letter arrives by EMS, she can send it back the same day.

For Packet 3, she will need the following.

1. Fill out the DS-160 on the http://ceac.state.gov/genniv/default.aspx website Print the confirmation page in English and Chinese.

2. Make a photo copy of the Personal Information Page of her Passport (the page with her name, photo, passport number, ect...)

3. Prepare 2 Passport style photos 2inch by 2inch (2x2, or 50mm x 50mm). Full color photo, clear picture of the face, white background.

Once she has those 3 things prepared, she will wait for Packet 3. When Packet 3 arrives, she will send those items, and the Packet 3 instruction sheet back to the Embassy, and then wait for Packet 4.

Packet 4 takes approximately 5-7 days from the receipt of Packet 3 before it arrives, and it will be sent via email.

It is also worth mentioning, for China, while being 100% optional if you are able to, you should try and schedule vacation time to go to Guangzhou with your fiance(e) for the interview.

From my own personal observation, and my fiancee's account from inside. There were about 30 people all interviewing for the K-1 at the same time as her. Outside I was talking to the petitioners that were able to make the trip (8 of us in total). All 8 of us were approved, the other 22 that interviewed, only 10 of them were approved, 2 were outright denied (assumption based on people crying as they left the embassy), and the other 10 walked out with an RFE slip (colored sheet of paper with additional steps to be completed).

If you decide to make the trip to provide the emotional support for the interview. Make sure that when they get in line for the interview that you give your fiance(e) your passport. One of the interview questions is the last time you saw each other and how many times has your fiance(e) come to visit. At this point they can present your passport. My Fiancee opened my passport in front of the CO and started counting my entry stamps. She only made it past the first stamp when the CO smiled, said you are approved, and sent her on her way.

You will send 1 copy of English and Chinese back with Packet 3

You must have 1 copy of the Confirmation page on hand in Chinese for the Medical Exam.

You will bring 1 copy of English and Chinese with you to the Interview
