it has 2 more stages, IN TRANSIT and READY, ready indicates it's at the embassy

Hello Randy and everyone. I have been reading and learning a lot from your forum seeing y'all are ahead of the game. I have a question though. When are we able to register and make appointments for visa interviews. Is it when the case status changes to "Ready"? We received our case no. and was not able to register for the courier service nor print the instructions to make the payment at the designated bank. Our case status just changed today to "In Transit" so I am not sure if y'all had to wait till it said "Ready" in order to be able to register at http://usvisa-info.com and proceed for visa interview payment. Thanks in advance for any response.

Our case just got assigned ;) what are those 6 steps they're talking about ? When checking status online and it reads At nvc they say to follow the 6 steps ... Any clue ?

I believe that is just a general message that k1's don't have to worry about. At the top of the box it says the status of the case in blue.

Habesha, I am not sure what the process is in Ethiopia, in the Philippines once you have the NVC number you can make payment through the authorized bank and once they receive receipt of payment you can schedule your interview on ustraveldocs

In Google instructions for Ethiopia are here:

Hi everyone. My noa 2 was the 1st of September and I am yet to receive a hard copy and I never got an email or a notification that I was approved. How long did it take you all to receive your hard copy and did you get a notification? Should I be worried?

Thanks all

Thanks Randy. I read the instructions. I didn't know if same thing applied to anyother country at the NVC stage. I really appreciate your quick response. Thanks again.

There doesn't seem to be much consistency between embassies in various countries, even in the same general region. The process is more difficult because of that, in general it seems most difficult in Africa and the Middle East, not sure the reason. Does the embassy in Addis Ababa have direct dial options you could use?

Yup, it is more of a huddle but I guess we have to go with the flow. Yes, they have a dial option if you mean a dial option as in to call and make enquiries. However; they take donkey years to answer, if at all they do ?. Well, will see what happens once the status changes to "Ready" hopefully latest next week.
