Thank you! It was the happiest day of our lives!

I just read about it and it looks like you don't need the I 693 If you file for AOS withing 1 year of your medical exam for the K1 as long as you have all the vaccinations. Can someone clarify if I'm correct please? :)

You would have the DS-3025 form filled out if your medical was within the past year. The USCIS has all of you medical file, but sometimes they loose them and you will receive a RFE for medical. After reading this could happen we decided to get the whole medical redone here in the US. Just to be cautious, and it was only $90 so for us it was better to be safe than sorry and have to wait on a RFE

I-129F sent- June 15

Lockbox received- June 16

Noa1- June 20

RFE- August 23

NOA2- September 1

NVC received- September 13

Case #- September 13

interview- October 31

POE- November 13

Married- November 23

So i don't necessarily need to ship the 693 with the aos pack right??
I think the USCIS "losing" the exams are just another way to rip us off :/
We'll try our luck with just the ds 3025 then :) Thank you for the reply

Hello everyone!... my interview was delayed because the medical, in the X-rays they thought that i might have TB, luckily it was just a mistake!....

now I'm waiting for my next interview next week. I have an attorney but I am not sure about his desisions, the letter that I received says that I need to fill a DS-260 form, originally we filled the DS-160 (last interview, the one that I missed)

Can you please tell me your experiences with this forms? Wich one did you fill??

My experience with a K-1 is the DS-160.  The DS-160 is for Non-Immigrant visas, which is what a K-1 is.  The DS-260 is used for Immigrant visas.  Hope this helps.

thanks!! Makes me feel better , I was nervous because of that.

Got POE in Houston. It was so smooth. I waited on the line for like 5 minutes. When it is my turn, I gave my passport to officer. He was like oh you are 20 isn't that young to get married. I said nope. He was like how old is your fiancé. I said 28. He said I am 28 I want to enjoy life more isn't that early. I said it depends when you are gonna get meet with love of your life, I plan to enjoy my life with my fiancé. Then he said put your fingers and I am gonna take your picture. When I am done, he said ok then wait a little bit my friend will come and escort you.

2 minutes waiting, an officer came and escort me to the room. I waited 5 minutes over there. She called my name. She said you know that you have to marry within 90 days. I said yes. She said are you sure? I said yeap. She said ok then and she let me go on my way. No interrogation. It was nice and smooth.

We plan to get marry next week and get my SSN after I get marry because I don't wanna deal with Maiden name changing. Can someone give me some information about it please? I researched it, everybody says different things. I am in Florida Freeport.

Hey, I get my marriage certificate first then SSN, then I dont need to deal with the name changing. But it also depends on the state you are in now. You know, different laws. You can search on google to see if you need to take your fiancé 's last name when you guys get married, if so , SSN first I think, if it doesn't matter then all good. Wish you luck and happy for u.

Thank you.

I researched it and found this things;

  • I can get SSN before marriage
  • I can get it after marriage but I need EAD to get it, I need to wait a couple months it means if I get married before getting my SSN.

Since it is free to get, I might get it right away :) Thank you for good wishes. Have a good day!

We got married 9 days after POE. The next day we went to the DMV, and got her an Afkansas ID card. Then, we took the marriage license to the Courthouse, and they gave us 2 certified copies. We went to the Social Security Office and applied for her SSN. We had her passport, birth certificate, I-94 and marriage license.

The card arrived in the mail about 10 days later.

Hello,

I-94? Had she previously been to the USA? Because the I-94 card (arrival/departure card) is for people who have been in and out of the USA. Correct me if I'm wrong. My fiancée doesn't have an I-94 card unless I'm missing something. Please advise! Thanks.
