My green card has been in production since April 26, and today my case status changed to say that my card production was ordered yesterday. I was wondering if there would be a way to use infopass to get a stamp in my passport while I wait for my green card to arrive? I have been offered a job that I will need to accept soon, and don't want to risk missing out because my card doesn't arrive in time.

It should not have taken this long... i would be a little worried..

but, yes you can get the stamp in your passport!!! did you get a letter? your letter will have your A # and you can use that to work while you wait. i would find out if your card got lost when it was mailed? i heard that has happened before:/

Thanks for replying. I have not had a welcome letter, but I do have an A#. Does this mean I can book an appointment through infopass and get a stamp at my local USCIS office?

I haven't had an update to say that my card has been mailed however. Only two updates to say that it is in production.

You should be able to obtain an I-551 passport stamp provided you have an I-485 approval notice.

Thanks for your replies. I haven't actually had any I-485 approval notice through the mail. I have spoken with USCIS who have confirmed that I have been approved. Would it still be worth going into my local USCIS office, and hoping they will still stamp, even without the receipt notice?

Hi, i have the same case too.

You can go in USCIS, bring your passport and they will stamp I-552 temporary permanent residence.
