Hi... Me and my American husband is a very old couple and had gotten married in our retiring years. As soon as I received my conditional Green Card, my husband opted to retire to my country. We flew there and I remained to live there for 5 months. I decided to go back to the States to pursue my residency as a green card holder. I found a live-in job as a caregiver so everything is free...(house, utilities, food, car). My husband stayed in my country because standard of living is cheap and I have a house there and will not be paying rent. Also his health has improved because of the tropical climate. But we are very much married and communicates with each other EVERYDAY through video calls. And we visit each other every year. He flies here, I fly there.

Now it's time to apply to remove the condition on my green card. My concern is we don't have house mortgage/lease, no car, no utilities under our names.

What we have are debit cards, bank accounts, health insurance, life insurance and tax returns. Are these sufficient?

Just want to hear your comments....

Bank statements, health insurance and tax returns are all good, but I suggest you write an explanation of your living situation with you and your husband. Include tickets and proof of trips made back and forth by you and your husband. Also, find stuff that shows you did spend time together anytime you had those trips (photos...etc). Also, you might be called on for an interview, because USCIS would like to know why a married couple will choose to live separately and so far apart.

1. If you do not intend to live in the US, there is no reason to waste your money pursuing residency.

2. You're going to have a job explaining why you live so far apart.
