Does any of my fellow Ghanaian here know what's happening at the Ghana embassies in the US with regards to issuance/renewal of passports? When you call the DC embassy they talk to you like you are an idiot. Mann whats wrong with Ghana. They lack good customer service and they act like they are doing you a favor when you have actually paid for a service. God help us..no wonder Ghana is not doing well....

Passport production has been on hold since December 2015 (Technically months before that). If you need a renewal, you are out of luck.

Oh!!! Ghana is a joke!!! This has been going on for this long and they still haven't resolved it. What do they expect us to do? I wish they would be polite and explain to us what the hell is going on. Ghana needs to change. Ghana has brought its Incompetence to the US too....well what did I expect.

Folks in New York and Houston offices are way better.. I believe, they only process expedite applications.

You need the patience of a god to deal with DC Ghana embassy.

The last time I used them, I had to change my flight which cost me $300 extra.

They are awful..

I called the Houston office and they told me they are not issuing passports. But yeah most of the reviews about the Houston office seem pretty good. I hope the DC embassy gets their stuff in line. I need my passport so that I can travel!

JARTA,

I would advise you to go to the office and talk to someone rather than been on the phone or emailing them because am telling you this emailing or calling them will not solve your problem. I had the same issue with them last year when i went to their office for a visa. I mailed my passport to them on February and still didn't hear anything from then in the month of August. After all the numerous calls and emails i decided to go there ...mind you i drove all the way from Boston to Washington (8 hours drive) just to sit in the office for 6 hours before someone came out to talk to me only to find out that they have lost my passport but they did cashed the money order i sent them. I was really pissed :ranting: that i started barging to the office in the back and thank God  i found this nice lady that help me out after all the chaos. But trust me after sitting there for 8 hours i seen people crying just because this so called Ghana Embassy would not even hear them out.

Good luck with everything.

I got my passport back with a stamp in it saying it has been renewed for one year. Haa...a stamp!!! the stamp looks like something I can make in my living room. I am going to be traveling to Ghana and I am worried it will create problems at the checking counter with the airline. I am praying that doesnt happen though. Once I get to Ghana, I will renew my passport.

Things need to change...this is insane
