Lost paper or did we mess up on filing???

Ok some I'm the fiancee writing this. I had sent paper work appling for a Fiance Visa. We got the paper via the internet. Filled out everything that the site had told us to do. We put in evdience of us being together and showed emails instant messeges past and present. I even sent in things that i cant resend as they are orginal items. I sent this at the end of Janurary. Unfortunatly I didnt have my checking account set up at that time, so I sent in a money order. About a month later after not hearing anything i called the 1800 that was on the site. This lady that I talked too. said all was good but I needed more evidence. Why im not sure of as i assumed it was plenty that I had sent in b4. But listening to her i sent in what little else i had. That has been the last ive heard from anyone. So today MArch 19th 2007 i called yet again. Guess what? We are not in the system! She even looked into my fiances name and we dont exsist. This is going on three months. Three months of our lives waiting. Not only is this causing stress for me as well as my fiance but its causing us problems as well. He thinks ive not even sent anything in and it hurts that he feels this way. Sadly i have no way of showing him that i have. I understand that we are not the only ones appling for things, but not to hear anything for this length of time has gotten me worried. This is my life my future we are talking about. The lady i spoke with today said its possibly lost or they just not gotten to it yet as appling for such a thing can take up to 6 months. But i took that as being the whole process, getting paper work done sent in knowing if we are approved or disapproved, finalizing last of the paper work and thats that. am i wrong does it take up to 6 months just to be processed? Im totally lost and almost at wits end. She told me the best thing to do is to refile. Easier said than done. Because now my fiance is back in england. and its kinda hard to send yet another $170. Is there another way we can go about to get him legal? this whole thing has literally done my head in. Im not one to give up i will refile if needed but if it wasnt for bad luck ill have no luck at all. Please if there is anyone out there that has had previous problems similar to this or would offer any advice it would be great to hear from you. At this point we need all the advice we can get.

Thank you for reading this.

Either you got a liar on the phone or you misunderstood her instructions to you since I find it hard to believe she'd have directed you to send additional information in without having a file number or telling you what yours was.

I sent a PM to you/your fiance already with the link to your Congressman's website - please contact his office and ask for help. Your situation sounds so peculiar I wouldn't want to trust even the collective brain trust on this website to sort it out. Go talk to the people with more power to take affirmative steps to help you.

I'm lost. Did the lady you spoke with at the very beginning not give you a receipt #??? The one that is on the NOA1? If she said everything was fine but needed more evidence, she had to have your receipt # in the first place. Secondly, you shouldn't have sent in any more evidence without having received an RFE.

Do you have your receipt #?

This is unfortunate indeed. A month past, and you have not receive Notice of Action document. Find out if the money order has been cashed. If not, and you still have the receipt, contact their customer service number and get a re-issue money order. If you don't have the receipt, then you will need to purchase another money order. I'm sorry. After, re-file if you must; but, use this website as your guide.

I can understand your frustrations, and about your fiance loosing hope. It's sad.

1) money orders usually have a tracking number... did you ckeck up on it, if it was ever received or cashed???

2) when we send our k1 petition for the first time in march 2006, Vermont service centre never received it. we called 1-2 month later to see if we were in the system and guess what??!?! they told us we are not in the system and they never received our petition. they also told us to wait 6 months and then refile. we waited until june 2006 and then we refiled.

This sounds tragic. I hope you get it sorted out without having to refile. Did you have any tracking information on the original submission?

If you do have to refile, let me make two suggestions: don't send in any originals, and consult the guides on this site before submitting. But maybe that's obvious, and you've already had to go through so much emotional turmoil...

Good luck.
