We need to file to change my husband's conditional residence soon, and I'm not sure which date starts the 90 days prior to expiration period. We got the I-551 stamp in Ankara via DCF, dated July 19 2004. We entered the US on August 13 2004, so I'm not sure if his adjustment of status took place in July or August...

I hope this question isn't too stupid. Thanks in advance...

ftatatita,

What is the expiration date on the Green Card? It should be the date of entry into the USA. Count back 90 days to get his earliest filing date.

Whatever you got in Ankara would be a visa, not an I-551.

In any event, either a July or an August 2004 date would mean that you don't need to file soon. It means that you should have filed almost a year ago.
