The CO who asked my husband to send his family registration didn't say to translate. She only checked off the box on the 221 asking to provide it. The US Embassy has many Egyptian employees that can read Arabic and will be able read the document and give the correct information. We have already spent so much time and money in translating all the original documents they asked for. I know they can and will be able to read and understand the written word of the country they are working in. Best of luck to you.

thanks sooooooo much ,, i told my wife about u guys and she pray for you too ,, God bless you guys cuz really u give us hope too :) thanks again

No he wont do that even if I could get ahold of him. He knows I found out the truth, he only had a First Revocable Divorce from her, and immigation asked for a Final Decree or a Irrevoable divorce. He knew he got caught and I found out the truth when USCIS asked for his final decree, so he snuck behind my back and remarried her. He wanted a safety net if our immigration journey did not go through. He was just a year younger then me, we had so much in common, his siblings accepted me as family along with all his nieces and nephews. We were perfect together, or so I thought, he betrayed me, and so much lieing when the truth came out. Now he dont speak to me, or even his siblings, nieces and nephews, he knew he got caught lieing to me and to them.

If I knew the immigations regulations on First Revocable divorces, i never would of married him, I trusted all he said, it may of been legal there in Egypt, but not in USA or with US government agencies.

Wish I knew all that then..... so our marriage in USA was not legal due to he never had a Final Decree or a Irrevocable divorce.

Wow, thats really Awufl, I dont understand why the USCIS or US EMbassy dont have such clear info about marriage and process and rights in egypt, and advices of issuing that FRC before marriage to catch liers !!!!!

yes Egypt have that wired thing of recovable divorce, maybe most arabic/islamic countires have that, sad to see aufawl people abusing system and marrige relations for just gain of papers and immigration benfits.

the ideal advice if the couple can do is really know each other and live togther before thinking of big moves or petetions, and really big red flag for men , if he is not paying for all expences and marrige and household expences then something strange going on, most arab men have pride in being sole provider of the house, also paper work should be in line with what they saying, not just trust with no paper,

i think you might get to egypt and hire lawyer and have that paper issued for you, its your right, or you might call egypt embassy in usa and ask them about it,

I think the US Consulate there in Cairo should ask for the Egyptian -Muslim mans divorce papers if he is marrying an American. That would save time and heart ache.

For the record, I knew him nearly 2 years before I married him........ and 2 visits.

If the paper is in the language of the country were the interview is being performed, it does NOT have to be translated into English. Someone at the US Consulate Cairo will be able to read it.

It took my husband one day to get the FRC and I think he paid 100 Egyptian pounds for this. The embassy did receive it and we saw an update on Tuesday and today our status changed in the morning to Ready and later in the day to Administrative Processing again. Inchallah we will see it Issued soon.

My husband and I are still only in the beginning stage of his immigration. I live with him here in Egypt and have been for 7 years. I recently re-established my domicile and so far everything seems like it's going smoothly. About the FRC, how soon in advance do you think my husband should get it? My husband has never been married prior to me and I am his only wife; but since I'm seeing that you guys are suggesting this document especially for men above 30, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have one with us when the times does come for an interview.

For documents such as this one, I would obtain it at least 2 weeks before interview, so its newly issue and current.

Best wishes on a smooth journey.
